I would be remiss if I didn't comment on the care provided by Dr. Sample and Dawnelle Holadia, Nurse Practitioner. I can say without hesitation that these folks saved my life, and they continue to ensure the best care. A huge thanks to them for so much-needed medical support, both emergency and yearly care. I have an indelible mark left on me called "Still Here", because of them. They are true professionals, and thank God, I'm lucky enough to see them for continued treatment.

husband seen 3 times ran tests no follow up appt we got our record sent to another dr and few weeks later he is having open heart surgery 3 clogged arteries They never mentioned even doing a heart cath he had already had 1 heart attack he is 64 and if we stayed with them probably would have had another very dissatisfied

My wife had an appointment for 7:45AM. She checked on her patient portal what time the appointment was at 6:30AM before we left. There was road construction so she looked up on her patient portal what the phone number was to call them and let the know we were running late at 7:30AM. At that time all her appointments came up cancelled. When we got to there they said they didn't have the dosage for her test, and supposedly they attempted to call her and myself two days prior. The phone number they have is to our cellphones which track all incoming and outgoing calls, and guess what THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF EITHER OF OUR PHONES GETTING CALLS from their office. However, we have show all other calls we received on that day.

My mother was scheduled for a procedure this morning at the hospital and was given instructions regarding preparation that entailed 3-days leading up to the date of the procedure. We were supposed to receive a call from the hospital regarding what time to arrive. We never received a call and when I called the hospital they couldn't help me because all the departments were closed. I called at 7am this morning and was transferred to the catheter surgical lab and I was told her procedure had been canceled. I was told to call the Heart Center. I called the office at 8:30am which is when they open and had to leave a message for someone to call me back. I called again at 11:30am and was told again I needed to leave a message for the office medical staff. I told her I had already left a message and she was snippy and not helpful or compassionate. I took a day off work to have my mother at the hospital and had to make arrangements for my young son to get to school. If it was the other way around and she no-showed we would be receiving a call and given a no-show fee. She has a FU next week and no one can tell me if that needs to be canceled. Aside from the Cath Lab who were nice Carolinaeast Heart Center needs to train their front office staff on being courteous and respectful. Someone dropped the ball and the way I have been spoken to is as if I was in the wrong. I am just trying to find out why it was canceled and why we were not contacted beforehand. It's just unprofessional and they lack customer service skills. I have been respectful on the phone and have been very calm trying to get some sort of feedback and I am given short answers with attitude. I am alarmed at the lack of communication and the disregard towards the patient. I know medical staff may be busy but if the front office staff had the decency to just be courteous and act like they cared it would lessen the stress of the situation. People are being seen because of heart problems and the stress of dealing with the front office and lack of communication when something like this occurs is not healthy for the patient. Not good at all. Do better Carolinaeast Heart Center-New Bern!!

This is the worst experience I have ever had with a health care facility, especially a Cardiac Facility! It is almost impossible to get through to speak to a polite, helpful, person at that place, and most of the time you have to wait 20-30 minutes to speak to anyone. This is not just once or twice, it's every time you call them. It's stressful enough having a cardiac condition, but not being able to contact your doctor increases the stress.
