Came in Friday night with my son for breathing problems. They told me me had something he didn't, gave medication for the problem, then came back and said he didn't have it and was discontinuing the medicine. VERY rude pediatrician, considering the fact it's the nurses who aren't listening to him, not me. It's Monday and I'm still here. Wouldn't recommend for little babies under 1 & this is the 2nd and last time I'll bring my son here. Nurses were excellent as always, but maybe reevaluate the doctor making the decisions and the pediatrician coming at people sideways about something the next nurse told them NOT to listen to or worry about. Definitely needs work on the he say/she say, cause everyone is coming in and telling u something different smh

Have been sitting in the emergency room since 3:30am. And was told about 6:30 am that MRI would need to be done to rule out in the doctor's words, Emergency surgery. It's 6 hours later and still no MRI. WAS TOLD THAT THE MRI Dept has there own schedule. And haven't seen the er doctor since shift change. He knows I'm pissed!!

Never been to such a dirty, unhygienic hospital in my life, and I've been to a few. They seem like they need to re train their staff to properly clean and disinfect. One of the most basic task. I don't fault the staff but their leadership for failing them.
Wait times are to be expected as normal. I think I was there for about 2 hours waiting, got called to take vitals and questions, wait some more, finally called to a room. Wait, saw a nurse and answered questions, wait, saw another nurse, answered the same question, wait, another nurse asking about stuff that they should of taken down at the start of the visit. Saw a doctor, ask the same question the nurse asked... I'm like is there not a chart for me not being made... and their was a good bit of trash in my room. If that's the stuff I can see, I wonder how much of the stuff I can't see is there...
Upon discharge, the nurse then came back asking if I was ready to go. NO ONE CAME BACK TO TELL ME WHAT THE ISSUE I HAD WAS or WHAT THE TREATMENT PLAN WAS! The nurse then ask "did the doctor came back to explain the situation, I said no and she then told me the rundown. So much for communication in this hospital. Get it together y'all.

Went to the hospital on Saturday, August 23, The care was beyond excellent. Went to another ER and doctor a week before with no results of what was wrong but Scotland found the problem. Started treatment and on the road to recovery. They were prompt, very conscious of what they were doing, and the staff was beyond excellent. Thanks so much

Reading the ED reviews confirms these are not isolated incidents/occurrences. As a health professional, I encouraged my mother to seek medical advice after noticing some significant symptoms needing to be addressed. She traveled via ambulance because she was not ambulatory (not able to walk). She requested an alternative hospital, however EMS always makes an excuse to only go to Scotland Memorial whether an emergency or not. When the ER "doc" approached my mother, he chastised her for coming to "his ER" stating and I quote "don't you ever come back to my ER complaining of weakness." This man had already made plans to send her home without any work up to rule out anything. My mother had health insurance and deserved to be treated better than that! He didn't know I was on speaker and heard how terrible he spoke to her. In a professional tone, I made him aware, she received guidance from me, a health care professional, to seek medical attention not only for generalized weakness but another significant symptom warranting medical evaluation. Next thing you know he goes from threatening to send her home to admitting her to the hospital for a few days. Unfortunately my mother was forced by EMS to seek medical attention again with this same facility awhile after this incident but this time she was given morphine for her symptoms and sent home where she would later die. He made it clear before.....he did not want her in his ER. Can you imagine having health coverage but feeling intimidated by the "doc in the ER" who told you to stay out of his ER despite EMTALA Laws???? People of color, go to your primary care provider, stay on top of your health and STAY OUT OF SCOTLAND MEMORIAL. We had too many unpleasant encounters TO EVEN MENTION IN THIS REVIEW BOX but apparently in the same boat with so many others. Scotland Memorial Hospital, now Scotland Healthcare System (likely because of the negative reviews) was never a first choice but when you live in a rural area where social determinants of health and institutional racism affect the care you receive or dare I say the lack of care an innocent human being can easily become a statistic. Don't be surprised if the ER "doc", coroner, head of the hospital, and lawyers are golf buddies....you don't stand a chance. Find a provider that looks like you and stay out of this ratchet ER. They care nothing about people of color and will send you to your grave without flinching.
