Patient
Laura- I am sorry about your experience. You may not realize it but the majority of practicing cardiologists are first certified in Internal medicine before any attempt is made to become a fellow of the American college of cardiology.(and this is not a requisite to practice cardiology) Through much life experiences I have seen excellent physicians who are not certified in their area of practice as well as excellent physicians who are. Multiple study after study has not demonstrated any outcome advantage for the patient based on board certification. I know it can easily be a contradictory situation. Please let me wish that you eventually obtain the care you desire.
