I love this office. The front staff is always kind and greets you appropriately. The nursing staff, doctors, and labs techs are extremely nice and attentive. I love that they provide all types of services here also.

I must say, FNP Alexis Hood, is amazing--10/10. I would highly recommend her. She listens, is gentle, and very in-depth. However, her nurse, Jeremy, is horrible. He needs to work on his people skills and confidentiality (HIPAA review). You should never announce what your task is in front of all your colleagues and other patients. Additionally, you should keep your opinions and attitude at home. Almost every encounter with him comes off as rude and disrespectful. This time, I felt he violated me. He might need to consider another profession if he can't serve all patients equally and with a pleasant manner--especially since most patients are already coping with a lot

My visit was fine and I had no issue with my care. But I'm a self-pay patient and inquired in advance about what the cost would be. After my visit, I found out the cost ended up being more than double what I was quoted. I was charged for a well patient/preventative visit, and then because I asked a quick question during my visit about my health, I was charged ANOTHER $280 for an outpatient visit. So I'm billed $280 for a preventative visit, and another $280 for an outpatient visit. IT WAS THE SAME VISIT. I did not take up any more of the doc's time than a typical visit. When the nurse and doctor ask you "do you have any more questions", be aware you will be charged for asking those questions. What is the point of a well visit if the ability to ask questions isn't included in the appointment? And what's the point of telling me the cost up front if it's going to be more than double that in the end? I'm in the process of disputing the charges, but if you are a self-pay patient, I would not recommend this practice. I've been a self-pay patient for years at various doctors and have always had a better billing experience than this. I will never return here.

I'll be honest, the front staff is very kind. Dr. Alison Johnson, not much to be desired. She's like those people that pretend they're listening when you're explaining things, but in reality they're just thinking of what they want to say after you're done speaking and in actuality, heard NOTHING you said. That's her! I explained to her thoroughly my issues and how another rheumatologist diagnosed me with RA. She immediately said "no, you don't have that". I said why did the previous doctor run test and do a physical exam and say I did, but you disagree? Her explanation to me wasn't suitable. She gave me a blood test and said the numbers tell her I don't. I read that sometimes certain blood tests can say you don't have certain diseases or illnesses even when you do and the RA test is one of them. She made no attempt to try to figure anything out. She made that analysis and said follow up with your primary. Waste of time and she gave zero effort. Her assistant isn't too welcoming either. These specialist really are something else. No one even makes the slightest attempt to help you, yet they have no problem billing you astronomical fees for NOTHING.

Dr. Carnes is excellent. He's thorough, yet concise and I trust him, which is reassuring. The Tryon Medical Partners Huntersville location has a comfortable atmosphere. Their patient portal and telemedicine services are excellent. Would highly recommend.
