No one ever wants to take their child to the ER late at night. But I am thankful to have a place like this if the time comes. The staff was attentive, comforting, knowledgeable, and answered any questions we had. Thank you so much.

My daughter's first appointment was amazing with Dr Jessup....until we went in the room for bloodwork. The phlebotomist was nice and friendly until she wasn't. My daughter began to panic because she never had bloodwork drawn from her arm. She's three. The nurse had one arm, I had the other and held her as instructed by the phlebotomist. Once she stuck my daughter, my daughter gained a sense of strength and she was able to pull the needle out. The phlebotomist began to yell and tell my daughter that she pricked her and she shouldn't be doing things like that. I had no issue with her saying it. But yelling at a three year old that doesn't know what a needle is. Saying how your supervisor is going to have a field day, is unprofessional. There was no sense of comfort in that moment. My daughter sat there crying as she was yelled at for something she knew nothing about. Something she wouldn't remember in the next five minutes. I will not be returning.

Rating Dr. Badik, Dr. Meehan, and the MAs alone I'd give 5 stars easily. They all have phenomenal bedside manner and make my trans son feel safe and seen, which is a huge deal for him. Dr. Badik has worked so hard taking over gender care and I have the utmost appreciation and respect for her for that. We drive in all the way from Raleigh to see her and it's well worth the trip. The reason for the lower overall review is the administrative side of things. No personal problems with the employees. It's really just about how difficult it can be to get through to a person and how outdated their phone system is.

Waited for over a month for my 3 month old daughter to have an appointment with Dr. Sylvester. A week before the appointment was contacted and told that there was an issue at the hospital that day, and that the doctor needed to rescheduled. They informed us the next available appointment was over 4 months away. I am in a field where I have to have meetings with clients on a daily basis. If I need to reschedule because of something on my end, I make sure that I get the appointment rescheduled as soon as possible. Even if that means working later one day. It is insane to me that individuals who have decided to specialize in area of medicine that cares for children, do not find the common decency to try and actually see a child before the a 6 month wait. As a newborn, so much could happen in those 6 months, and if it did the institution and the doctors should be held liable, as they should be aware and make the necessary changes in their schedule to see a patient before asking them to wait 6 months.
