Patient
I recently visited this establishment with a friend to support them while they're going through a tough time with their heart. While we visited, this cardiologist diagnosed them with a heart problem and issued medication. Dr. Waheed Akhtar did not explain anything about the medication such as side affects or explain what the medication does, nor did he introduce another person who also entered the room. So we had to research to find that out that if they stop taking it for whatever reason then it could lead to a heart attack. After being diagnosed, my friend needed a doctors note confirming the diagnoses for school transportation purposes. After calling multiple times over multiple days with no answer, they finally got in touch. When they did get in touch with the office, the office staff was rude and denied her a doctors note. The reason being was they felt they did not have adequate evidence to prove my friends diagnosis, after she had a heart monitor taped to her chest for 2 weeks to gather the information which either this office or that company lost(definitely not my friends fault as she did all the steps correctly), and after she has already been on medication for the diagnosis that the doctor diagnosed her with. My friend is very shy and non-confrontational so this has put them in a very difficult situation and they feel they don't have an option because this is the only cardiologist in the area, given the timeframe they don't have much of an option. I hope this story can reach the right person and I would never recommend such an unprofessional establishment to anyone.
