Patient
I am seventy-five years old. If I used for several years this doctor Alegria for my health care, it was because of the Spanish language, so that I could clearly understand the explanations about my heart condition. Otherwise, I would never have dealt with him. From the beginning he showed his apathy and lack of interest in my case. He barely checked me, ending his consultations with the insignificant little phrase "I see you fine". Consultations lasted no more than fifteen minutes and, as another patient said, sometimes he would take cell phone calls, leave the room and not return. The primary care doctor who treats me noticed that my legs were swollen, which this Dr. Alegria must have noticed. The primary care physician ordered me some tablets and told me to see the cardiologist urgently. A few days later I was admitted to the hospital with discomfort and shortness of breath where I underwent several tests and was diagnosed with fluid retention, which Dr. Alegria should have checked and taken measures to improve me. After discharge from hospital I have not been able to get an appointment with Dr. Alegria, who committed the disrespectful and inconsiderate act of canceling four consecutive appointments without explanation; it is not because the doctor is sick or because he is out of state, so I am convinced that the motif for his poor professionalism is that he does not want to treat me because, among other reasons, my Health Insurance crap does not cover many medical services that I need, as he insinuated several times. In other words, as always, the interest for money ahead of health care. I have already changed doctor and location and I do not recommend Dr. Alegria to anyone. So let him keep the more than four stars that he has been granted in reviews for his services; I give him only one star because I can't put zero star.
