She is an amazing doctor. She makes you feel comfortable like you're at home talking with a friend. She tells you everything you need to know she explains it and detail. She takes her time. She's not a rush for anything. She just makes you feel really good when you're in there. No matter what the problem is, how good or how bad it is. She set you at ease and I thank God that I was referred to her because she's a lifesaver and I'll go to her to the day I go to heaven because I'm comfortable with her and I know she does her best and whatever she's having to do. And thank you so much!

Dr Ashland Van Cleef saved my life in 2000. I trust her more than ever since. Very good I highly recommend her.

If I could give lower than one star, I would do it. Dr. Van Cleef was absolutely the worst provider that I have ever seen. I have a connective tissue disorder (hEDS), mast cell disease, and POTS. After 7 years of suffering, extreme chest pain, blood pooling (my legs turn purple), and dilation of major blood vessels, my main doctor sent me to a cardiologist. Dr. Van Cleef was available. Dr. Van Cleef explained what POTS is (as if I have not been dealing with this for years), ignored my vessel dilation (which is the only reason why I went to a cardiologist in the first place), and recommended that I 'go swimming' for treatment. This did not lead to much improvement. They did not touch me or give an exam. Meanwhile, one of my doctors from a different specialty ordered cardiac imaging studies to check signs of another condition. Dr. Van Cleef did not agree with these orders. They turned down the order three times without offering any explanation to myself or my other provider. I had to get the scans done outside of the Sanger Heart Clinic. This ultimately delayed my diagnoses of vascular compression syndromes. I have 6 different compression syndromes. By the time we surgically intervened, some of my vessels had almost dilated beyond repair. One could make an argument that vascular compression disorders are rare in the standard population, but they are not rare in those with hEDS/HSD. To top it all off, Dr. Van Cleef wrote about conversion disorder in my medical note. Since then, a few doctors that I have seen have failed to take me seriously.

Dr. van Cleef has been my cardiologist since I was 36 after experiencing a rare episode with afib. Most recently, my husband was referred to cardiology due to his coronary calcium score. His first doctor was awful. I told him to make an appt. with Dr. van Cleef and he was so happy he did. She explained everything in detail, took time to answer all questions, and relieved a lot of his concern. It's rare to find healthcare providers who carve out time to educate their patient's and she does just that!
