Dr Leitner performed TavR surgery to replace my aortic valve recently. My husband and I were very pleased with his professionalism. He explained the procedure in detail ahead of the surgery and assured my husband of its success afterwards. He patiently answered all our questions and gave us confidence in the surgery. I recommend his services to anyone in need of this type of procedure.

Dr. Leitner besides being a true professional, understands the human side of medicine. He took his time to get understand my medical issue. Medicine today has become robotic and desensitizing to understand the patient, at least with Doctor Leitner I did not get that perspective. I should note this was my first experience.

This is my first experience with a diagnosis and referal to a cardiologist. I took the first available appointment as I wanted to get going on a solution before two upcoming trips overseas. Dr. Leitner presented professionally although I did not agree with his recomendation of medication, not having been prescribed a longterm medication treatment in the past and having some knowledge of a quick catheterization approach that could be used. I agreed to a trial basis of the meds and began taking them the next day, a Friday. By Saturday, I was so lethargic as to be unable to get out of bed plus I was covered with a rash, a symptom of allergy. After spending the weekend in bed, disinclined to do anything but sleep, my husband called the emergency number Monday morning. The covering MD returned the call late afternoon saying that Dr Leitner was out of town for two weeks and that I should discontinue taking the meds until his return. I did this. When he returned someone called to say I was prescribed a different medication from the med causing the negative symptoms. I took that for about a week with little improvement excepting that I was able to get out of bed though still sleepy. Finally, I was fed up. I could not live this way. I went to my PCP who cut the dosage of the new medication in half. I am still on that medication, able to proceed with my life. I have never had any communication from Dr Leitner or his office checking on my status. In fairness to the staff, I do not know how to use the patient portal. I had to go to the receptionist at the office building who set one up for me. I have tried to use it but it would not take my "password" and I am unable to reset. I use my computer very little and consider myself to be a "computer dummy." However, I still think someone should have contacted me. They have my phone numbers! Currently, I am wearing a heart monitor for two weeks...an appointment set up months ago. I have no idea when or if I will see Dr Leitner again.

Dr. Leitner was on call Sunday 10/5 when I had a heart attack, he came in and placed a stent in my heart to reopen the blood flow, he saved my life and I am very thankful for his work and expertise.

Dr. Leitner is, no doubt, excellent in his field. However, it is now two whole days since my husband's heart cath; he is at home recovering from a heart attack and 2 stents; and I (the wife) have YET to speak with this doctor either over the phone or in person to get an update on my husband's findings, condition, or the fact that stents had to be placed. What I finally learned came from the nurses on his floor. And, they were, quite frankly, upset that he had not contacted me. I waited to hear from Dr. Leitner for hours, only to finally look up and see the techs wheeling my husband back into the room. This is completely unacceptable in my opinion!!
