About Dr. Robert Altman, MD, FACC
Dr. Altman is the Chair of the Department of Cardiology at Summit Health New Jersey. He specializes in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology, diagnosing and treating patients with abnormal heart rhythms. Prior to arriving at Summit Health, he practiced in the Mount Sinai Health system where he was an attending physician, the Co-Course Director of the Cardiac Pathophysiology Course, and Assistant Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine. He is an expert in the minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment of abnormal heart rhythms with procedures called catheter ablations. He implants heart rhythm devices such as pacemakers, implantable defibrillators (ICDs), and cardiac resynchronization devices (CRT). He specializes in complex cases.

I highly recommend Dr. Altman for the treatment of AFib. His training and education are beyond reproach. He is very patient and explains complicated medical jargon in layman's terms. He clearly lays out all options and works with you to develop a game plan you are comfortable with. Dr. Altman treated me with antiarrhythmic drugs for several months and ultimately performed a catheter ablation on me at Hackensack University Medical Center. I felt like I was in the best hands every step of the way.
