About Dr. Elaine Y Wan, MD

Dr. Elaine Wan is the Esther Aboodi Associate Professor of Medicine in Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology at Columbia University Medical Center, College of Physicians and Surgeons and attending physician at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. She is trained in Internal Medicine, Clinical Cardiology and is an invasive cardiac electrophysiologist. She is the Director of Electrophysiology Research and oversees all electrophysiology clinical trials. She performs implantation of cardiac devices including pacemaker and defibrillators, as well as ablation of arrhythmias. I first starting seeing Dr. Wan last year when I developed a heart issue. Unlike other cardiologists I had seen about this issue who were dismissive of my symptoms because I am young, in fairly good health and very active, Dr. Wan took the time to listen to my concerns, order tests and spoke to me about different courses of action. It's a great feeling when you can see a doctor who takes the time to fully listen to you and you don't feel like you're being rushed out the door. This location is a little bit out of the way compared to where I first met Dr Wan. But the truth is I love this doctor and I would follow her tho Nome, Alaska if I had to. She is my all-time favorite doctor and I've had many in my 74 years here on earth. She has saved my life twice and maintains my healthy heart now. She responds to my email in minutes but I don't abuse that privilege and she even answers me on weekends. I could not be happier and I'm always afraid she will leave us and go to more important and more scientific endeavors. Happy Mother's Day Do tor Elaine Wan. You are the best
