If it weren't for him, idk if I'd be here!! I presented to the ER w dangerously high BP, palpitations and an arrhythmia I was referred to Dr Cantor for follow-up care. Dr. Cantor's office staffdidn't hesitate to get me into their office promptly after my ER visit. He ran tests and prescribed the correct meds to help control my heart n BP. I felt so much better n have been under his care for 10 yrs I've never had an issue w his bedside manner as he's always very pleasant n informative. If I have concerns, he addresses them. Everyone has their own experiences, mine has always been good

I've been seeing Dr. Cantor for a couple years now and all he has done is pushed nuclear stress test on me and right now I'm in the middle of getting another back surgery another fusion and cannot drive to his office for his service. so he will not issue me any more medication, he rather see me drive in pain and he really doesn't even check you out that's not the way a doctor should be. he has no consideration for his patient very sad but his office staff is excellent. I told his staff that I will find another doctor and today I received a certified letter saying that he no longer wants to treat me.

Dr. Cantor, in my opinion, has very poor bedside manner when it comes to minority patients. My mother was admitted to Good Samaritan Hospital now for over a week, and Dr. Cantor is her cardiologist. My mother, who is diabetic and frail, was admitted for management of COVID-19, Influenza and Bacteremia. ID specialist is recommending TEE - after 2D echo was non-diagnostic - for presumptive endocarditis. Dr. Cantor is refusing to perform the TEE. ID told me while rounding on my mother that if cardiology refuses to do the TEE, which he strongly believes is medically necessary, he will have no choice but to empirically treat my mother for endocarditis for 4-6 weeks. For 2 days now, I've been trying to speak with Dr. Cantor to understand his rationale for overruling the Infectious Disease specialist, but I can't seem to get a hold of him. I'm not seeing him here at the hospital, and when I call his answering service, I'm being told that Dr. Cantor, who is by the way the on call physician this weekend, does not wish to take the call and that he wants me to call his office during business hours. In the meantime, my Mom will continue IV Ancef at a high dose for potentially 4 more weeks while this could be potentially avoided with a TEE. Now, I understand that a negative TEE would not necessarily rule out endocarditis, but it would help make the determination for indication of Ancef continuation, as opposed to blindly continue the treatment. Dr. Cantor, a little compassion / empathy, regardless of someone's race, is part of practicing medicine and part of the Hippocratic Oath!!!

My mother had open heart surgery in October to replace her aortic valve under Dr Cantor's care. Two weeks to the day she suffered a large stroke leaving her with cognitive loss, memory loss and speech loss. While admitted back in to Good Sam hospital, he was only heart doctor from the team that did not reach out to discuss what happened at any time and offer support. Yesterday, I brought her in for her first post surgery appt. I was told I was not allowed in the office with her. I explained she suffered a stroke and cannot speak and that I was her health guardian and caregiver. I explained I have questions regarding what happened as well as medications and that she won't be able to communicate. The receptionist left and asked and he still said no. Finally, a nurse comes out and says no he will call you. I was very upset and called bon secours patient advocate to explain that my mother is disabled and cannot speak or understand hence needing a caregiver/guardian present during the appointment. A nurse in the hallway from his office asks if I am with this patient. As we speak, she even says she agrees I should be allowed in. I told her I complained to Medical group. Within minutes I am allowed in to the appt. The appt goes fine but no lack of concern for the stroke or WHY it may have happened. As we are walking down the hallway I hear a voice coming towards us. I turn around and it's Dr Cantor visibly mad and red running up to us. He starts yelling at me that it's my office and he makes the rules. He nasty says "you complaining won't do anything." I told him that she was disabled and he was discriminating against her care. He then angrily tells me I can go find a new doctor. Not only did he act out unprofessionally, he did this all in a public hallway while other patients were waiting for the elevator. I was embarrassed and made to feel I was wrong for trying to protect a disabled person's rights.
