Patient
Doctor was very pleasant, which is the only reason I gave 1 star. He saw my elderly Aunt while she was rehabbing in Sunnyview on the morning of her discharge when he writes her prescriptions, sends them electronically to her regular Walgreen & states they won't accept electronic version for medical equipment so he writes a prescription on an UNOFFICIAL AND OUTDATED VERSION prescription blank & NOT on a NYS official prescription. Walgreens WON'T accept an Rx electronically as it was a medical device (a nebulizer) which helps somebody's breathing treatments (kind of important). His parting words were 'any problems call Sunnyview'. Well yes there was a problem filling it. The Rph at Walgreens said it was illegal. I called Sunnyview useless. Couldn't help. I called his office, equally useless. Couldn't help. Claimed she wasn't a patient there. Well he just saw her in the hospital so she's not a patient(?) I guess we don't get a bill then. Thankfully, I reached out to her primary care physician who was able to resolve it. The PCP staff was amazing/immediate action taken. Problem solved .Of course I had to run to Latham to a durable medical equipment company and due to the prescriber delay delivery could not be completed until tomorrow. Lots of wasted time running around when this could have all been avoided. I believe it's borderline withholding appropriate care, incompetence... something along those lines. A provider should know what prescription pad they should be writing something on instead of having a family member have to run around for hours trying to resolve their error, mistake and incompetency. Cannot say enough good about her PCP and cannot say enough bad about this MD who discharged her. Just incompetent, behind the times, something.
