Dr. Shlofmitz and his all-star nursing staff saved my life. St. Francis Hospital sets the Gold Standard in Cardiac Hospitals. The hospital is very clean, and the establishment is well-organized.

I think you should be careful with his care. As he's aging, point of views have differed from patients I've received around the community. He's been there "forever"'and it's hard with people with that power as he once was. He is the kind of person that only has this and will hold on to seeing and treating anything. I would inquire how he treats staff and then see for yourself. My mom was recently a patient (i was trying to get her transferred due to the feedback I've received out of his care) and I saw him fighting with another surgeon outside because he thinks he knows as much as the other sub specialities and throws them Out of the room. Like almost physical. He seems almost manic at times . And if you have a complication (like my mom from his intervention) he refers to "outside" practices, his people, not the ones that are best at the approach/intervention). Usually not in network. He had a difficult time communicating appropriately and remembering details of the case. As a local, I would really do your research and think about how you care looks now and in the future. I am sure this is why they are trying to partner up with NYU and Cornell.

This man is my doctor and he is the best of the best. I can't even explain what a wonderful human being he is. His knowledge and manner are second to none and he's just amazing in every way. always alleviates my anxiety best of the best - this is a dying breed of doctors.
