Shuyin Liang

I had a partial esophagectomy in 2021 due to esophageal cancer. Dr. Liang was my surgeon. To say that she and her team saved my life is an understatement. I can't think of a better doctor. Both skilled surgically and genuinely caring for her patients. Due to complications I was in the hospital for 2 months. In the middle of my stay I contracted an infection. Dr Liang was away for the weekend in New York City visiting a family member she hadn't seen for 6 years she wasn't due to return to Rochester until monday. Dr.Liang is the Best ! She treated me for esophageal cancer and saved my life ! Took the time to explain the sugery in great detail and instilled great confidence that i would make it though to the other side of a very long sugery. I was truly blessed to have her as my surgeon.

Dr Laing is an excellent surgeon. She recently performed DeVinci surgery on my boyfriends' lung and got it all. Explained the procedure in layman's terms so we had a good understanding Of how it was performed and what to expect after. A very pleasant woman. Her office staff is very efficient and the nurses on 4400 are top notch. Only negative I observered was that she is usually a bit hurried. Am sure she is a busy woman .

I honestly, can't possibly think of the words to express on how I feel about Dr. Liang. She saved my life. I had pulmonary empyema and kidney failure due to a severe infection. I could have easily died but she scraped all 3 of my chest cavities and put 6 chest tubes in my body to drain out the remaining pus over time. I spent about 2 weeks in a medically induced coma and about a month total in the ICU and my room at RGH. This was about 2 years since this traumatic experience for me. I have PTSD now due to what I lived through in my coma but that had nothing to do with any of the staff. Anyways, I owe that male doctor (I wish I knew what his name is) who couldn't sleep and sent me to RGH AT 4am bc he knew something was wrong. I owe all the staff involved, everything. I owe Dr. Liang my life. I hope you read this. You saved my live. I know it's part of your job but you are a very special, talented and intelligent individual. Most of all, you are a hero. No higher power saved my life. Dr. Liang saved my life, along with others. Thank you for what you do.
