Easy to book online. Arrived 15 minutes early and was taken in quickly. Immediately a nurse came in and then the PA 10 minutes later. Aimee Henson was good and she mentioned they are trying to cut down the waiting time before being seen. Hoping Optum can continue this moving forward. All staff was nice that I came into contact with. I will give them another try!
I visited Optum on a Saturday when most urgent care facilities are typically very busy. This location, however, wasn't crowded, so I decided to stop in while I was on the Poughkeepsie side of the river. Finding the urgent care entrance was confusing at first since the building has two entrances, and I initially went to the wrong side. The check-in process was very slow, and unfortunately, the person at the front desk seemed unmotivated--as if I was inconveniencing her by checking in. I'm not sure why businesses allow that kind of attitude in customer-facing roles. On the positive side, the staff who took over after check-in were excellent. The medical assistant who roomed me, the physician assistant, and the X-ray technician were all friendly, professional, and efficient. Their part of the visit went quickly and smoothly. The only other delay was waiting for the X-ray results, which took over 20 minutes. My impression is that the radiologist reads them remotely on a rotating basis, so there isn't much urgency in turnaround. Overall, I would consider going back if needed, but my preference remains FirstCare in Highland, which I highly recommend for a smoother experience.
I'm dog sitting g for my sister's dog and felt ill. I went Optum Urgent Care in Poughkeepsie, NY. I had an amazing experience. No waiting time. The office staff greet their patients with politeness and respect. Made me feel at ease right away. Kate who took my vitals was very kind and explained to me the test she was performing on me. Nurse practitioner Marylou Killion was very helpful and explained what I had. Also that I would be receiving a call and a text letting me know the results of my tests. I want to thank the staff of Optum Urgent Care Poughkeepsie, NY for their wonderful service. I highly recommend this Urgent care facility.
I went in for severe side and back pain. I had a low grade fever and urine in my blood. The nurse practitioner was very pleasant, however, I could not get an x-ray there. I don't think they had a tech there, and if I had blood work done there, they said it would've taken five days to get the results. So all in all it was a waste of a trip because right from there I went to the ER.
Kathy my Nurse was very helpful in getting my results copied for my Tests and Blood Work that I had. Kathy is the BEST. She always has a very friendly smile and makes you feel like part of a Big awesome and wonderful Family at Optum Urgent Care Center Pine Street Poughkeepsie.
