Dr. David Kavesteen, MD, FACC, FCCP; Babylon Cardiology

I have a congenital heart condition and saw Dr Kavesteen to have my annual checkup. The technicians did an EKG and an ultrasound of my heart and sent me into the room to speak to the doctor. I am giving this review 2 starts because the technicians did a good job. They were thorough and helpful. The doctor however, was not and I had one of the least professional experiences Ive ever had with a doctor. The doctor came in the room looked at my chart for all of five seconds, read that I have the condition and then asked me if Ive googled the condition. I responded yes, I have and gave a brief overview of what I understood about it. He responded yes thats right talked for all of 30 seconds about the condition and told me to take my chart. I held my chart as he started ushering me out of the room, telling me he wanted to see me again for a walk test and was giving me a take home monitor. He immediately started walking out of the room and I had to stop him in the hallway to ask him the questions I had. I asked him, in the hallway, if he looked at the ultrasound and he said yes, which Ill give him the benefit of the doubt, maybe he did before. I asked him, in the hallway, what the results were and he said there was some leakage but everything was fine. Leakage is never a good thing to hear, so I nervously asked him, in the hallway, to elaborate. He said its fine and not a big deal and reiterated he wanted me to come back in for the other tests as he started ushering me again to the exit. At this point, I walked to the front desk said I did not want to take the monitor home and did not want to schedule a follow-up. I will be finding a different doctor and not coming back here.

Dr Kavestein is the best at what he does! He and his staff are highly knowledgeable in their field and show a lot of kindness and understanding towards their patients. Dr Kavestein took the time to run all of the proper tests and answer all of my questions, making sure that I have a full understanding of everything being discussed. I have recommended this practice to my friends and family and they are also impressed with the team.

Came to Dr. K for Lyme testing/trtmnt after being ill for 8 yrs n coming across his website. He did tests and told me I was positive for Lyme n 2 co-infections. Put me on 3 wks of antibiotics n after no improvement, he refused to treat me further n tells me it wasnt actually Lyme bc the antibiotics didn't work. Nice staff, nice doc, but he is not properly educated about treatment of chronic Lyme.

Dr. K and his Heart and Health Associates are the absolute best. Dr. K saved my life when he diagnosed me when all other doctors thought it was just the flu. I owe my life to them. And to put the cream on top, they have bedside manner like no other. When I lost my job, he continued to see me and worked out payments. He cared more about my health then getting paid. Just come in and see for yourself.

I spoke with Debbie at 11:19 on april 1, 2019 and asked her if kavesteen accepts aetna. She checked and told me yes. When i told her that i had 1 more question she breathed deeply and said uhh huhhhh, condescendingly. The doctor should hire someone that can, at the very least, answer the phone like a professional.
