I've been a patient for many years. Great staff and fantastic bedside manner. They treat you like family.

The support staff is the worst I have ever encountered in my many years of going to medical offices. They gave me completely wrong information about the procedure for getting a reference from my primary care doctor to their office, as required by the Medicare Advantage insurance carrier, first saying I needed to reference their doctor's special special number in the referral, and then asserting that I did not need to get a reference (although the insurance carrier assured me that neither assertion was correct). They were extraordinarily rude, hanging up on me abruptly and issuing a baseless ad hominem attack on me. They refused to put me through to Dr. Alan Cohen, asserting that he does not get involved in these problems, an assertion that is factually incorrect, since I do see several responses from him to other people who have complained. I cannot recommend that you patronize this medical office, unless you like being led astray, insulted and hung up on by people who do not have basic civility and do not know what they are saying or doing.

UPDATE- my review stands. My personal internist called this doctor and he never called him back either to discuss their shared patient. Doctor Cohen has lost his way and all of the patients I sent his way fell the same and dont go to him Worst doctor -dangerous practice. Doctor tells his secretaries to read you results. Refuses to call you. My internist called to discuss my results and he ignored him too! Makes claims and then disappears. Imagine that. A heart doctor just doesn't respond. Rude office. A bunch of ladies that have no idea of what they are doing. While I was waiting to see the technician I was able to overhear the doctors discussing a patient in the hospital. They were saying the name loud enough for me to hear. They were laughing about the patient and speaking disparagingly about the patient. When I had waited for over an hour and peaked my head out of the room I was waiting in tor the sonogram that he doesnt discuss with you after he takes it but gives it so he can bill insurance -he stopped his laughing with his colleagues in surprise to see me and went to get someone to do the sonogram. STAY AWAY. Something very wrong happened to the doctor - lost all of his skills and bedside manner. Does not care about his patients at all,

Dr Cohen and his staff are so wonderful. I've been going to him for a decade and a half. He always asks how I'm doing, how my son is etc. he treats you like a human and doesn't brush you off if you have a concern, he doesn't rush you out. Whenever someone asks if I know a good cardiologist, I always refer them to the practice. I have issues that are not run of the mill things a cardiologist would see often and so if I ever had to switch to a different dr, I would be very sad and hesitant.

One concern : This office does not fully use the latest technology which is an electronic My Chart to keep track of appointments and test results. All communications with this office are done by voice on the phone with no electronic reminders or instructions. For one test I was seen very quickly and I felt I was in good hands. The technician was very business like and wore a mask. - however the the results were not immediately available - I had to make phone call to get the results to my Doctor. For another test the Technician did not wear a mask and there was more than bit of confusion on how it was to be done so I left without taking the test. I am sure that this place has well qualified doctors -- but in my opinion there be a problem in that the office is not using the latest IT to schedule tests.
