Jeffrey M. Bernstein, MD

Dr. Bernstein has been our cardiologist for at least two decades. My wife and I trust him implicitly. We are grateful for his ongoing care. He is thoughtful, calm, patient and clearly explains the treatments he recommends.

I had a virtual telehealth visit today with Dr. Bernstein. I explained in a reasonable way my symptoms, and said that corticosteroids had helped a year prior in a similar situation. He did not want to give me steroids because he believed it was an infection. I can absolutely respect that decision and appreciate the advice. But what he said next was the most patronizing experience I've ever had. This is an actual quote from him, from the call: "Now, I just told you no. And that's bad. You don't want to be told no. You want to get what you want. So I recommend you call your primary health care provider so they will rescue you. Because I won't be." It is jarring and hurtful to be accused of being asked to be "rescued" when you are simply seeking health care from a provider. It is especially jarring to hear when sick and just looking for some basic help. I am not a damsel. I am a human being. This call, which should have been simple, ruined my morning, and I wanted other people to hear it.

Impatient, arrogant and obstinate. Makes a diagnosis after 2 minutes of conversation (in which he seldom leaves room for one to speak) and will become frustrated with you if you question him or ask for further explanation. This doc is just here to pass you to another.

Dr. Bernstein literally saved my life. Wonderful man. Very kind and caring. He is the best there is!

Very personable, professional, and thorough. Really listens to your symptoms, history and complaints. I called the office today to make a follow up appointment and was upset to find out he's no longer with the practice. Sad
