When I told my neighbors that I was having a scheduled surgery at NLH in Gloversville they were shocked that I was not going down to NYU in Manhattan which had been my primary care facility for 20+ years. I'd moved upstate and have found wonderful resources locally and since I've made this my home it also made sense to me to use the local hospital. From check in to release it was A+ service and experience. My surgeon I'd already vetted and she was incredibly capable so that was no surprise. What WAS a surprise was how seamlessly everything moved from start to finish. The entire staff is skilled, well trained, competent and all were as well, very friendly. The hospital itself was spotlessly clean. It was more like going to an expensive spa and waking up afterward with the good news that I was not as planned going to have to stay the night and that everything had gone perfectly and I was able to go home the same day. No one likes the necessity of needing hospital services, or a surgery, but since it had to be done I could not have hoped for better conditions, skill sets, or outcomes. I had a fantastic experience at NLH in Gloversville and would highly recommend this local hospital without reservation.

I'm going on vacation soon. I wanted to make sure all my shots were up to date. I went to the appt. and they had very little information. I finally got some information from the patient records dept. but they were incomplete. I saw that I needed a shot that was overdue, so I requested the shot. They told me, I would have to pay 50 dollars for the shot. I told them that my Insurance covers it in full. I called my Insurance company and they said the shot was covered. No 50 dollar charge. The hospital was called back and still argued the charge. They said they would get back to me. They didn't !! I called them back again, still the same run around. They still say it's 50 dollars. I'm done !! Called Walgreens pharmacy for the shot. It's covered by Insurance. Nathan Littauer, I hope this is not a normal occurrence or some type of money grab on unknowing patients. I asked you several times to recheck my Insurance and billing. This is unexceptionable.

Definitely disappointed in the ER doctor my husband saw this morning. The other ER doctor and the nurses on staff, were terrific when they saw my baby a few days ago. But, this doctor was not great at all. My husband came there this morning with an obvious sinus infection. He refused to give him antibiotics, said to take Sudafed, and dismissed my husband's symptoms. Meanwhile, he put in his discharge paperwork that he has an upper respiratory infection. My husband, at this very moment, is a lot worse. 103 plus fever. We ended up speaking with a different doctor at a different location and they were completely baffled as to why he wasn't prescribed antibiotics in the first place. Praise God we are picking up his prescription tomorrow morning, first thing.

Took My sister there yesterday for her ears I have to say I've never seen so many rude and abrupt nurses at one time. I'm not gonna say what they asked a 76 year-old woman who weighs like 80 pounds but it was uncalled for and very unprofessional and she kept saying I have to ask these questions. but do you have to ask those certain questions like where are you going with this and at first, I thought well yeah they have to ask to find out But the way she threw it out-there was very unprofessional. Young and arrogant that's all I have to say.
