I saw Dr Spier today for a consultation. He was a very caring & thorough Dr. He explained & reviewed with me my previous test results. He then told me his opinion & follow up for my care & referred me to a Pulmonologist for a biopsy. His NP Lindsay reviewed my history & was very pleasant & alleviated my fears. Overall - I cannot thank Dr Spier enough for saving my life. Dr Spier & NYU team fully removed a rare Bronchogenic cyst in the mediastinum I had through minimally invasive robotic resection. Dr Spier remained steadfast, willing to help, answered all my questions and was supportive in every way. I'm forever grateful for his exceptional care and I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of a top-notch surgeon - especially for those seeking a surgeon specialized in rare disease/disorder. More Details - In January 2025, to start the new year, I suddenly had severe voice hoarseness and upper right shoulder pain. Upon quick urgent care imaging, they discovered an 8 cm chest mass and urged me to go to the ER right away. Additional imaging confirmed the chest mass and NYU ER recommended to consult with Dr Spier. Despite his busy schedule, Dr Spier & his team & accommodated the initial consult on short notice. From the moment I first met him, his caring nature was evident. He took the time to listen to my concerns, explain the procedure in detail, and ensure that I was comfortable with everything before moving forward. It's clear that he genuinely cares about his patients. Unbelievably, within a week of the consult, the minimally invasive robotic resection planned procedure was scheduled and went successfully. Other surgeons I spoke to were not confident in removing even a quarter to a half of the chest mass (confirmed by Pathology to be a bronchogenic cyst). Dr Spier managed to fully remove the mass despite the surgery complexity (as the mediastinum mass was nearby and in contact with vital arteries, spinal cord, lymph nodes, heart, and lungs). Within 2 days, I was safely discharged and now I'm on the road to recovery. Dr Spier's skill is unparalleled - his precision and expertise were evident from the very beginning. He's in a class all of his own - I felt confident and at ease knowing I was in such capable hands. He not only saved my life but also ensured that my recovery went as smoothly as possible. His combination of skill, professionalism, and compassion makes him truly stand out.

My husband was in a very serious work accident and was on advanced life support. He sustained damage to his lungs and aspirated foreign objects. I called Dr Spier who was at a different hospital to get a second opinion after so many people recommended him. He called me back within an hour. He was so kind to me and listened to my situation and told me he wanted to help. My husband saw him numerous times after being discharged from the hospital. Dr Spier is brilliant and admired by many in his field. If you ever find yourself in a situation where you need a surgeon, Go to this one.

I was diagnosed by my primary care physician Dr. Manuel Rosales of Lake Ronkonkoma, NY with a tumor in the upper lobe of my right lung in March of 2017 by the chest xray from my routine yearly checkup. As the procedure for the robotic lobectomy surgery for malignant or benign tumor was the same it was decided that a separate biopsy was not indicated. The robotic surgery was suggested by Dr. Laurence Spier of Garden City and performed in May of 2017. The removed tumor was tested while I was on the surgical table and was, in fact, found to be malignant. However, because the tumor was found during my yearly physical exam it turned out to be a very manageable stage 1A cancer. There was no other treatment necessary. Dr. Spier was and still is a supremely qualified and professional Surgeon as well as a very kind and caring person. I whole heartedly recommend him and his staff to anyone in need of his expertise. It is now almost 3 1/2 years since my surgery and am now on a yearly checkup basis.Thank you Dr. Spier.

Dr Spier was very professional and the best surgeon to take care of me in the removal of two lobes in the right lung and some other problems I had I couldn't ask for a better surgeon I'm blessed
