I had a first rate Dr, Dr Roger, and there was a great medical staff around him. The anesthesiologist had nice bedside manner, they cared. I felt in good hands. The nurses afterword were great. There was always some guiding me during check in. Clean. My room had problems, and was there for 3 days they never resolved it. I am tall, and they never got me a bed extender till late in the last day I was there. Vent directly over bed blew cold air and as much I complained, I was told nothing could get done. The maintenance depart seems sup par. The real kicker was the way they discharged me. It was pretty clear they needed the room, and could not get me out of there fast enough. Made me feel like garbage. I hate our assembly line healthcare. It is sad when the medical staff is so good, but the administration is cold. It felt mean, the way they discharged me.

I wish I could provide a zero rating as that is how much of a disappointment this hospital was. My grandmother was brought to the emergency room of this hospital for a major stroke. She was later transferred up to their hospice unit. It was deplorable! She was unable to do anything for herself but was fully conscious of what was going on. So she knew and could express when she was uncomfortable or thirsty. They checked on her so infrequently that my family and I were afraid to leave her alone. We ended up taking shifts 24 hours a day so that one of us was there to take care of her since the hospital would not. When we did page a nurse for help, it would take at least 20-30 minutes for a response. It was as if now that she was in hospice, she was a waste of their resources/time. I made sure to give my feedback back to the nurse manager and was told they give preference to those patients with no family. While I understand those patients with no one should have additional attention, it does not mean that those with family should be completely ignored. Especially when none of the family that was with her, including myself, have any medical training or knowledge of how to properly lift a patient with no ability to move on their own without hurting ourselves. We ended up requesting her to be discharged and transferred to hospice care in my family member's home. She passed away about a week after leaving the hospital. However, at least my family can rest assured that she was treated with dignity, care and respect up to her last dying breath. I would have never have forgiven myself if we left her in the terrible care of the hospice unit at Buffalo General. I hope someone reads this and thinks twice about what they are entering into with their care. I understand in some situations, there are no other options. However, if you do have other options, be sure to look into them before your loved one suffers in the hands of their "care".

Father admitted, hot, sweaty room. His roommate made a mess in the bathroom, which sat for way too long. I had to ask twice for it to be cleaned. The garbage in the room was literally over flowing, and the overall feel is just dirty. The nurse was great, but never saw any doctors while of family was visiting. Great job on the aesthetics of the hospital, how about improving patient care and cleanliness.

2/16/19 recently visited this hospital to see my sister. Very suprising what I seen. Seems to me people who work here only car about their check. My sister was waiting hours for someone to help her with bed pan. What really suprising is how dirty it was. In the bathroom shock the hell out of me, 2/15/2019 the bathrooms were filthy, someone pooped all over toilet, no toilet paper and paper towels all over the floors. 2/16/19 still looked the same. 2/17/19 still never cleaned, poop, no toilet paper and still a mess. How could this be, isn't a hospital supposed to be clean and germ free? It really blew my mind that it was so filthy.

They had amazing staff and were quick to send me in for testing unlike the other ER I went to, they gave me pain meds to help me get more comfortable and figured out far more than any other doctor so far. This will definitely be the place I go to from now on! They listened to everything I had to say and were very thorough with their work, the nurses and doctors here really seemed to care about my comfort and well being.
