About Dr. Robert F. Tranbaugh, MD

Dr. Robert F Tranbaugh is Professor of Clinical Cardiothoracic Surgery at the New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medical College and serves as the Chairman of the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the New York Methodist Hospital.Dr. Tranbaugh is a magna cum laude graduate of Franklin and Marshall College with an AB degree in chemistry. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1976, he completed his general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery residencies under Paul A Ebert, MD at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Tranbaugh first joined the faculty at the State University of New York--Health Science Center at Brooklyn as director of pediatric cardiac surgery.
