Patient
They perform unnecessary tests, whether the insurance covers or not, assuring the patient he/she will NOT be billed later. Then they overcharge the insurance and send huge bills to the patient for what the insurance didn't cover. Besides, their doctor's professionalism puts patients in danger. At the time of the visit, I tripple-checked with the front desk, nurse, and the office manager that they only do the basic procedure(s) because of my very limited medical benefits. They assured me that they've checked my coverage plan, and everything will be covered. $850 later (in addition to the money they got from my insurance), the billing person Betty Bandari is yelling at me over the phone and threatening to put me in collection. As far as their cardiologist Dr. Bandari's professionalism, he laughed at my face when I suggested that the high pulse rate and blood pressure might have been caused by my thyroid medication and/or underdiagnosed asthma and that perhaps I should see a pulmonologist. He was unable to identify the cause of my symptoms, yet he suggested that I keep coming to his office and continue taking the medication. I went ahead - to another doctor, and went off my medication. A few weeks later, asthma was confirmed by a pulmanologist. And the decreased level of the medication brought the blood pressure and pulse rate down. So not only Brooklyn Cardiology's billing practices are illegitimate, procedures are abundant and unnecessary. But worst of all, they're billing me for their INABILITY to properly diagnose me, provide no help, while encouraging me to go on with the lifestyle that was causing me damage. What kind of health care is that?
