David Jakubowicz, MD

Doctor Jakubowicz has horrible bedside manner. Could benefit heavily from listening more to patient. Seemed on edge and ready to snap when I was just explaining details about my issue. I can definitely see what other reviews are talking about, with him being dismissive or straight up rude. A good doctor listens to a patient and explains things thoroughly without throwing a fit. Seemed to want to get me in and out as soon as possible. I suspect many of the positive reviews on here and other sites are heavily botted. Office was also ran pretty badly (non-sound proof room that has nose pouring in from the waiting room and all over the office doesn't seem like the ideal place to run what's supposed to be an accurate hearing test.)

I do not recommend Jakubowicz not even to my worst enemy. First of all his office, in general, is beyond unprofessional, they pick up the phone with annoyance, and they are unable to answer any basic questions. I have tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but they are continuously a disappointment. They work there, but they do not know what they are doing. As for Jakubowicz, he was extremely unprofessional and dismissive. His title of Dr. should be revoked based on the fact that he tried to justify his lackluster response to the most basic of questions such as "why do I need to take this?" and him responding only with "I'm a doctor." Here is a list of things he did in my appointment. He heard me speaking Spanish to the nurse since it was easier for us to communicate that way. When he walked into the room, he tried talking to me in Spanish. I responded in English (my first language) he remained confused, asking what I am for the whole visit. He seemed more concerned with my race or ethnicity than answering any of my medical questions. He stuck an instrument deep in my ear, then with the same visibly dirty tool, he dug it deep in my nose. Then while it was covered in both wax and mucus, He attempted to place it in my mouth. Clearly, I had just experienced abuse and shocked at what had just happened to me. I was able to stop him and ask him to change the instrument. I told him I've been suffering from sinus issues. His response was "sounds like you have migraines, Women always have migraines." I have never had migraines. He told me to calm down a lot when I didn't say anything, so I just kept saying sorry. He took a phone call and had me waiting for 45 min mid-visit. When he got back from his call, he prescribed me six medications. He refused to answer me, and his only response was that he was a doctor.

Dr. Jakubowicz treated my terrible ear infection with the upmost care and concern. He had an excellent bedside manner and answered all my questions thoroughly, I didn't feel rushed at all. I highly recommend Dr. Jakubowicz. His office staff was helpful and I had no issues with my health insurance.

I met with Dr. Jakubowicz because I have allergies and at times choking spasms when I laugh; I explained why I was there; he checked ears; throat and without warning he squeezed corner of cheekbone area near ears and it hurt, saying that could be why my throat bothers me and with respect to choking spasm when i laugh when, he said he would need to examine me when I'm laughing and the choking was occurring. He told me what to take for allergies, but felt he was very dismissive when it came to my conerns. I wont be back.

Dr. Jakubowicz was excellent with his service, he explained all you asked so you could understand.
