Terrible, Unprofessional and Disrespectful. Diagnosis was main artery 90% blocked but he said we would have to wait until Monday because he was not a Saturday Rainy day surgeon! Please advocate for yourself and loved ones! It is necessary with This doctor or you will not survive.

Dr. Alam has been exceptional. From the initial visit to the most recent follow-up, the doctor has shown a remarkable bedside manner, creating a feeling of respect and ease during each appointment. The doctor explained the condition, chest pain, and discussed the different treatment options in an understandable way. The care plan was decided upon with confidence, without feeling rushed. Expertise and genuine compassion made a difficult and stressful situation manageable. He is a rockstar at Raritan Bay Medical Center holding the chair for Director of cardiology. The office staff was also wonderful--friendly, professional, and efficient. making appointments was easy, and the staff was always helpful. Dr. Mahmood Alam is highly recommended to anyone in need of a skilled and caring cardiologist.

I recently went to Dr. Alam's office as a new patient and it has been an absolute joke.i would not recommend this practice to anyone. I went to de Dr. Alam to address recorded drops in my heart rate. I was disregarded, but told to I would get scheduled for an echo and heart monitor. I go for my echo and he forgot about the heart monitor. He asked that I come the next day, which I said I couldn't and his staff offered to get it taken care of then. He also told me he would call me the next day with the results from the echo. The front desk told me they didn't know how much my co oat would be and asked when my follow up was scheduled for. I was not given any follow up information including what to do with the monitor once done. I call late afternoon the next day to follow up and there is no answer. A Google search h shows they are closed that day. I call the following Monday inquiring when I would get results and they said two weeks. They also said they would be open that Thursday until 6 to get the monitor removed. I inquired about signing a release for my pcp. They informed they had her fax number. I reiterated the release. They informed me they already provided the echo results to the Dr. I called and spoke to two other people inquiring about what time they closed on Thursday. One person said 5 pm. On Thursday another person said they close at 6. Upon arrival a few minutes after 5 pm and the office was already locked. No one knows what they are doing- nor do they know what HIPAA is. They are unorganized and have been an absolute waste of time.

It's unfortunate that I have to even rate this place 1 star, this man has missed diagnosed me several times . I've been havin palpitations, I recently had surgery done back in December and since my surgery I have been having difficulties with my heart, I have yet to come back with a normal EKG all my EKG have been abnormal or borderline since the day I left the hospital when I went for my follow up to see Dr. Alam, he performed an ekg which also came back abnormal LAE meaning enlargement to my Left atrial, he took my blood pressure while I was laying down which was normal, then made me stand up and took it while I was standing and told me my blood pressure is dropping when I stand which is why I would feel dizzy, he said I was to young and that I'll be ok to just drink water, so I did so since then I've gotten 4 other EKG done due to the palpitations I've been having and they all came back abnormal I called my primary care physician who also got upset and told me to follow up with cardio asap I try to call this office for an emergency appointment and they left off with calling me back and I have yet to hear back. I wish he would've payed a little more attention to what was really going on on with my heart .

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with the doctor working here. He is consistently late for appointments, leaving me waiting in the office for extended periods. Recently, I had an appointment with him. The assistant asked me to wait in the exam room even when the doctor isn't ready, which is totally unnecessary and wastes even more of my time. Only after waiting for an hour, was I informed he was stuck in traffic. Well, if you are going to be late, YOU CAN LET ME KNOW. I CAN MAKE PLANS ACCORDINGLY! He eventually did arrive, but the prolonged wait and initial miscommunication were unacceptable. This complete disregard for my time is unacceptable. I will be finding a new doctor who values their patients and understands the importance of punctuality.
