Dr. Jason Smith is very kind, warm and caring. He is incredibly understanding of my concerns and takes the time to explain what is going on with me medically, and how to move forward. After seeing Dr. Smith, I was encouraged and felt much better emotionally with a sense of relief that I hadn't had in months. I know that he is providing the best care possible and making recommendations that are in my best interest to help me get through this difficult time.

I am beside myself that a cardiologist sent my father home after seeing the condition he was in. I made appointments for pulmonary and cardiology after my Dad refused to go to the emergency room; hoping these doctors would aid in my efforts to get him the help he needed. Both doctors wanted to rule out a blood clot BUT DID NOT stress the urgency to him, nor did they direct him to go to the emergency room. The paperwork said "PE Protocol" and to order the scan within 3 days....but nobody explained that to him and he was sent home on a Friday afternoon without showing any concern. I work for a vascular surgeon, so I know what PE stands for and we tell our patients to go to the emergency room if there is suspicion of a clot and they experience any shortness of breath. Both doctors told him his lungs were clear and didn't even order a simple chest xray. As expected, I struggled to get him scheduled for a CTA within 3 days because of the weekend and you know how that works, so shame on you! His best bet was the emergency room and you knew that and never said it! I called your office to complain after he was sent home and to get some clarity and was told by your clinical staff that I could just tell my Dad to go to the emergency room. You don't think I already tried that?! That was your job!! He was waiting to hear it from you! We are supposed to be able to trust doctors but you sent him home to die! I could hear my dad struggling to breathe for almost a week. I called the paramedics to our house to try to convince him to go to the hospital on Wednesday morning. I hoped that one or both of these doctors would help him. You both failed us. I finally was able to convince him last night to go to the hospital. Turns out, 40% of his lungs were filled with fluid, along with fluid in his abdomen and legs. He was admitted and diagnosed with congestive heart failure. This is unacceptable. You need to do better! YOU NEED TO DO BETTER!!!
