Patient
I saw Dr. Goldschmidt once. I picked him from the list because from his own description of himself "he never leaves patient's questions unanswered". He had to change my blood pressure medication and prescribe another. The decisions were made withing 5 minutes. Although I had a question, he said the visit was finished and proceeded to his room to record the visit. When I expressed my concern about not having time for my questions about the new medication, he just smiled, but did not ask what the questions were, explaining something over his shoulder. It turned out the new med. for the blood pressure did not work on me and after having outrageously high blood pressure which lasted for over 2 weeks, on December 3 when my blood persistently stayed 190 over 96, which I knew was dangerous, I called the doctor's office to ask for a different medication. I was advised that I could speak to the nurse instead. It was obvious the blood pressure medication did not work on me and it was the doctor only who could have prescribed a different one, but he was out of reach. Three hours later, the doctor's secretary called to ask how I was feeling. There could have been a tragic outcome, had I not spoken to another doctor who provided practical advice that brought my blood pressure down, although she was not my doctor. She just understood her duty differently from Dr. Goldschmidt. I certainly did not stay with Dr. Goldschmidt. Don't go to doctors who do not have sufficient time for you.
