I have often had to wait more than one hour after my appointment time at this office, but today was the worst, I walked in at 1:20 for a 1:30 appointment. There were at least 20 -25 patients in the waiting room. I wasn't was called in til 4:00, then l was left waiting for another 30 minutes in the exam room. I didn't get out until 5pm! 3 1/2 hours! I complained to Dr. Abbud, but he completely ignored the subject and continued as if I hasn't said a word. I'd have left sooner, but I needed his release for an upcoming surgery. Other patients in the waiting room said they'd been waiting for 2+ hours. I saw accommodation awards for him and the other doctors at this practice, so I'm sure he's a great doctor, but making patients have to wait that long is very disrespectful of our time. I will find a new cardiologist for my future needs..

I went to Dr Abbud after having a TIA. He inserted a Biotronik internal heart monitor. During the procedure he did not wait till I was numb and I felt everything. Not only that, he threw a towel over. my face with no explanation. He left a horrible scar on my chest that is visible when wearing clothes. You can see a bump. I know other people who had the same procedure and you can't even see the scar at all. Plus, I was told I would have "discomfort" for a few days. I had full on pain and still months later if I move a certain way or bend a certain way it hurts. I'm told it shouldn't hurt at all. And finally, it sticks out under my breast. I can see and feel it.

Although I've been extremely patient over the years with the overcrowded waiting rooms, the fact that you and 6 other patients are given the 1st appointment of the day and everyone waits for 45 minutes till they go into the small appointment room and await another 45 minutes to see Dr. Abbud, the icing on the cake as to why I left his care and changed cardiologists was due to the latency of his advice and action of my diagnosis. I normally scheduled appointment 3x a year with his office over the last 10 years. Back in March 2024 due to my family history of heart disease I requested he pursue requesting a CT scan . After he hemmed and hawed advising me that the insurance company wouldn't approve a test like that, we agreed that he'd write a script for me to get a calcium test but advised that the cost would be fully Out of pocket. A week later his office called and advised me of the score results (1,099 overall). Rather than being aggressive to determine next steps, they recommended simply keeping my next appointment at the end of June when I was scheduled to have an exercise stress test. On the phone I questioned whether I should increase my daily statin dose before seeing him, and after 15 minutes of being put on hold, the admin said I could increase my statin from 5 ml to 10 ml. During the June appointment the exercise stress test revealed nothing alarming so for good measure Dr. Abbud ordered an ultrasound of my corroded arteries. His office advised me later that week that the results came back normal. When I inquired about next steps, they scheduled another checkup in October. Due to the lack of addressing my concerns, I found another cardiologist from another practice and provided them my most recent bloodwork, history, and calcium score in the beginning of July. That doctor took immediate action and was able to get the CT scan approved which revealed 3 severe blockages. The new cardiologist then scheduled a catheterization to determine if stents would fix the issue but revealed that due to the location of the blockages, a triple bypass was necessary. Now that it's 4 weeks past my CABG procedure I am grateful that I ended my care with Dr. Abbud. Due to his complacency on my diagnosis, seeking an alternative cardiologist was the best option for me, but I question his professionalism due to my circumstances. If you have any questions on his sense of urgency, I'd certainly seek a second opinion elsewhere.

Fine doctor. Yes, has many, many patients, and very hard to get an appt at the IMA in Shrewsbury, but he did right by me by encouraging a Cath. You want this man at the helm when you're passed out with a camera winding its way to your heart. He's funny in a particular way that folks shouldn't get upset. His doctor sense of humor.
