Had to have a serious heart procedure performed where time was of the essence. I would not have been here to write this accolade had I not been immediately taken care of by Dr. Faraz and his amazing cardiologists team. They literally saved my life. Thank you for ever! Fredi Brodmann

I had a medical procedure a few days ago and I'm writing to share the amazing experience that I received. The pre op nurse Jill was so kind and compassionate- she made me feel at ease. After my procedure, I was in great hands with Karen in post op- she was also gentle and patient with me. She had a calming and nurturing demeanor. I am extremely pleased with the level of care that I received.

There physician billing us the worst . They try to bill patient what insurance says is not patients responsibility. I asked for supervisor to call back several times. SUPERVISOR DO NOT CALL PATIEBTS BACK. They still continue TO BILL ME THE DISCLUNTED AMOUNT. MY INSURANCE TOLD THEM I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE AND SENT THEM THE DOCUMENTATION AGAIN. STILL TBEY ARE BILLING ME . Each phone call I am like a broken record. Worst billing service EVER.

This was the absolute worst experience I've ever had at a hospital. I was experiencing fluid build up and went to the ER. They did a CT scan and found a significant amount that was alarming so they admitted me and said they needed to pump me with antibiotics just in case there was bacteria growing in the fluid or an infection occurring. I had no fever or signs of an infection otherwise. I was, however experiencing sharp pains in my back and lower abdomen. I spent the night on a stretcher in the bright, noisy, hallway area of the ER admissions. The staff surgeon came to exam me and ordered a test area to be drained for a culture. I was finally transferred to a regular floor after 20 hours in the ER. The continued to pump me with 2 strong versions of antibiotics twice a day. The next day they took a sample of the fluid from my upper stomach. When I asked the Intervention Radiologist if he was going to drain the rest because I was in pain, he said the doctor didn't give him the order to do so. He proceeded to place a JP drain at the site just in case more wanted to drain from that area. I then needed to wait for the culture to come back 3 days later. Meanwhile I'm still experiencing the pain and discomfort from the fluid. After the 4th day in the hospital I asked if they were going to remove the fluid. The surgeon said no, you don't need it. Just wear the binder we gave you and the swelling will go down. She then said, "but if it continues to bother you, you can always come to my private office and we can drain it for you." I found that statement to be very unnerving. It was completely unethical! You don't want to drain me in the hospital, you want to drain me in your private office and charge me insurance company your personal fee. I spent 5 days in the hospital with no relief for the reason I came. The culture came back negative. I was pretty much overdosed with antibiotics every single day for a just in case and no attention given to my initial complaint.
My IV sites on my arms kept burning causing the nurses to need to change the location of my IV. My veins are very small and hard to stick. The burning was so unbearable at times I wanted to rip the entire line out myself. They explained that the specific antibiotics were extremely aggressive and burns many people. But again, I'm still receiving it after a negative culture.
I had to beg to leave so many times. They always kept finding reasons for me to stay... another CT scan, I may die from infection if they don't check other things, etc. If you have good insurance, please beware! They will keep you and make up reasons why you should stay. I wasted 5 days with loss of pay on my job. So frustrated and disappointed in the entire experience.
There's so much more to this story, but I'm long winded enough. I still have this JP drain that they will not remove without the surgeon's order. The surgeon refuses to give the order because I expressed my opposition for seeing her after my hospital stay, simply because I don't trust her and feel that she doesn't have my best interest as a patient. I'll be going to another hospital ER to have it removed.

One of the worst hospitals your better off going to another hospital then going to Hackensack. First of all the take hours to attend you. They ignore you and don't take anything seriously. Supervising doctor stays in the cell phone nurse does not know how to insert an iv properly. They just throw you in a room with other patients to wait for hours and hours and nothing is done.
