She received her MD from Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, in Scranton, PA. She did an internal medicine residency at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and a cardiovascular disease fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, in Philadelphia. In addition to English, Dr Wellings is fluent in Mandarin.
