Dr. Schanzer and his Medical staff are great. Unfortunately the Office staff is another story. While I've overlooked it in the past, after today's incident I won't be returning.
I have seen many doctors either myself or on behalf of my kids in the last couple years, and never felt the need to write a review over it. But the woman I spoke with today really was unique. It seems I'm not alone on this - you can see the same feedback in the other 1 star reviews.
She called to follow up my last appointment which is usually pretty routine. Some of the details didn't sound right, so I tried to explain what had happened at the last appointment. Instead of listening, she proceeded to argue with me: claimed I had an EKG done with them last week (I had not since 2023); claimed I had met with Schanzer last week (he was out of office); claimed I already had another meeting with Schanzer next week (I was told there'd only be a phone consult after my last visit); then in the next breath when I said OK great I'll talk to him then, she said actually it was a meeting with someone else in Schanzer's office and that I should call and organize a separate appointment with Schanzer (part of her job by the way - I guess she wanted me to just call back later?).
At some point in the middle of this my phone had switched from my car to my headset, so my voice was muffled. When I came back and apologized and asked where I cut out, she said I was "really going on about something." Yes, that would be my health, and how to get to my doctor to talk about it!
I don't need to relate the rest of the conversation, you can probably imagine. But if you are concerned about your heart health you probably don't need the added blood pressure of interacting with the office staff here.

Seems super busy because they hang up while I'm trying to make an appointment,
1st question she asked what is your insurance?

Dr. Schanzer, great doc. Staff? Horrible. They have attitude problem and don't want to talk to you. The receptionist says ask your pharmacy about your medication. The pharmacy doesn't prescribe any medications, their job is to fill the order, that is it. Dr. Schanzers staff lacks education and communication skills, they think their patients are uneducated and don't have any idea of the medical field. Pathetic staff, wish dr. Schanzer had a better staff, I'll be looking for another cardiologist.

As a younger patient who visited Dr. Schanzer's office earlier this year with concerns about my cardiovascular health (palpitations and irregular heart beat), I can confidently say that my experience was exceptional.
Walking into the office with a bundle of nerves, I was immediately put at ease by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. Dr. Schanzer himself is not only incredibly knowledgeable but also possesses a comforting demeanor that instantly alleviated my anxiety. His expertise in the field of cardiology was evident throughout my visit, and I felt reassured knowing I was in capable hands.
The examinations conducted by Dr. Schanzer were thorough yet conducted in an easy-going manner, which made the entire process much more manageable for someone like me who tends to get anxious in medical settings. He took the time to address all of my concerns and patiently answered all of my questions, leaving no stone unturned in ensuring my understanding of my cardiovascular health.
Moreover, I must commend the staff at Dr. Schanzer's office for their professionalism and friendliness. From the moment I stepped through the door to the moment I left, I was met with nothing but kindness and efficiency. Their dedication to patient care further enhanced my overall experience.
One important takeaway from my visit is the reminder that everyone should prioritize regular check-ups with a cardiologist, regardless of age or activity level. Whether you're a young adult like myself or someone more advanced in years, maintaining heart health is paramount, and Dr. Schanzer's office provides an excellent environment for this.
