Dr. Maleckii is nothing less than awesome. If you have atrial fibrilation (AFib), you need to see an electrophysiologist in order to find out if you are a candidate for an ablation. Make an appointment with Dr Malecki. Your regular cardiologist may be content with pumping you up with meds. Dr. Kayaneh recommended that I have an ablation. The AFib is gone. No more shortness of breath from mild exertion. My resting heart rate is down and my blood pressure is down. Also AFib causes damage to the heart. When the ablation is performed, that damage is corrected. Get the ablation.
My mom is a patient of Dr. Maleki for the last 6 years. I can say only good things about her and her staff. Great person and great doctor. I read some reviews and was really surprised of what some patients said about her. I highly recommend Dr. Maleki if you need a pacemaker. You will be in good hands.
Horribly rude, and never submitted a report for my test results. I saw Dr Maleki for a tilt table test that was ordered by my cardiologist. This was the only time I had ever seen Dr Maleki. I was left laying strapped to the table for over an hour and a half before anyone came in to start my test. During this time, Dr Maleki reviewed my history and medications, and approached my mother in the waiting area, questioning her about my health history and antidepressant use, asking verbatim "what did you do to cause her to be on antidepressants?" She should not be discussing my personal health information with anyone without my consent. But to outright blame my mother for causing me to be prescribed antidepressants is entirely irrational and completely unacceptable. Finally, when Dr Maleki came into the room to begin the tilt test, she was discussing another patients medical information in front of me. She went into detail about her medication history and how that impacted the ability to perform the scheduled procedure that day. None of that should have been discussed in front of me, in the middle of my evaluation. Once I was elevated into the upright position, and they were waiting for me to pass out, Dr Maleki went into my medications with me. I was told I should stop taking all of the medications I was prescribed, that they were the cause of my cardiac issues. I had to reiterate to her 4 times during my test that my symptoms have been present since I was a child. My newer medications have nothing to do with it. But Dr Maleki persisted. She told me to get off three of my medications because "there was no way I needed them". Again, this is the first and only time I have ever seen Dr Maleki. Continuing on, she said she "highly doubts I have ADHD and shouldn't be taking the stimulant prescribed to me." She demanded to know why I think I needed that medication. I explained how my life was being impacted, and what a measurable positive change it has made for me. Her actual response was, "of course anyone would perform better on Adderall, I would be more productive if I took Adderall too, it's a stimulant". I am completely disappointed in her lack of professionalism in her response, I was taken aback that this was all said while I was strapped to the table being tested. I passed out during the test and was being monitored by the nursing staff before being returned to the patient room I started in. Once I regained awareness, Dr Maleki came into my room and reprimanded me for not drinking enough water and how abysmal my urine sample was. Yes, I should drink more water, but to scold me for it like I am a child? She took me off of one medication but did not give proper instructions for how to discontinue it. I could have had serious complications if I had stopped it abruptly, I am thankful I waited to consult another cardiologist before weaning myself off. On top of this whole experience, SHE NEVER WROTE THE REPORT DETAILING MY RESULTS. I went to my cardiologist the following week for a follow-up to discuss the results of the tilt table test. After waiting 2 hours before being seen by my doctor, he admitted that there was no report posted in my medical records. He called Dr Maleki on the spot as he was embarrassed, thinking it was an accident. She did not answer. I was told to leave and schedule another appointment in 3 months and hopefully we could go over my results then. It has been almost two months since my tilt table test, and Dr Maleki has still not written/submitted a report. My other providers have nothing on file from her. This whole experience was a nightmare.
Dr. Maleki has been my EP since 2014. I came upon her after I had a sudden cardiac arrest and survived. I wouldn't have had the life I had since then, if she had not been my Doctor. The medical knowledge and professionalism she has shown has been unsurpassed. She has always been available to me and has returned my calls on many occasions. Dr. Maleki is very pleasant and a great doctor, and her staff are very nice to deal with. I highly recommend her.
