State of the Heart Cardiology & Vascular Clinics

I needed pre-op clearance for a foot surgery back in March of this year. Part of the testing included an EKG which was done by my PC physician. Results showed an abnormality so she referred me to Dr. Gupta at State of the Heart. He ran a stress test and an Echocardiogram. Results showed no problems. Had a 6 month follow up visit just a few days ago. Everything still looks good. I am very impressed with Dr. Gupta and his practice. I waited less than 5 minutes upon arrival to be brought back into one of the exam rooms on both visits. The people at the front desk were friendly and attentive as were the back office staff. I have never been in a doctor's office that is as clean as Dr. Gupta's. The level of cleanliness is off the charts.

Phenomenal front desk staff, very polite, fast, efficient and the one star is no representation of them. Problem is with Gupta and their male tech. Came in to get an abnormal EKG/High blood pressure checked out. While waiting for the tech to come in to run the tests, Gupta came in asking if I was his client and proceeded to interrupt me as I explained symptoms. Went on a ten minute rant about how my problems were because I wasn't Vegan, breathing, and stressed. All before I actually got any tests. Never saw him again after this. Once I got my tests back I had a 120/40 blood pressure that was deemed normal and was shown to have 3 leaky valves. When asked for an interpretation of the results I was told "we'll call if you're dying" So yeah I don't exactly recommend this place.

I was under the care of state of the heart for a couple of years. Initially I was seen by a young Cardiologist who was very knowledgeable and paid attention to details so I was very pleased. This doctor left the practice after a while and I was left to be seen by Dr. Gupta. I noticed he didn't really paid any importance to what I had to say and pretty much dismissed all my concerns. A couple of times he spoke about tests that I had not completed yet being "normal" which I just thought ok he's just confused and didn't think much of it. Well, I moved away from Las Vegas and now that I've gotten a copy of my medical records, I was able to see that he had diagnosed me with chronic conditions I was never made aware of BECAUSE I NEVER HAD THEM (and I know this for sure because I'm a nurse)!! So either it was charted incorrectly or it was just made up I have no idea! This is unacceptable and he should really start paying more attention. Very disappointed and very concerned that I've not been receiving the proper treatment. Do not recommend this practice at all.

Everyone here is so helpful and friendly. I thank God when I was in critical condition, they called Dr. Makam. He is such a caring Dr. Who truly cares about us (his patients) He is truly one of the best Dr. I have been to since I came to Las Vegas 9 years ago. His close monitoring of my case has allowed me to feel more at ease as I am recuperating. He reviews all related documents from not only in his practice but also treating Dr.'s if sent to him. Anything needed from his office for the Dr.s on my cases, he and his staff has worked quickly to get them what was needed. Dr. Makam should truly be recognized as one of the best not just Heart Dr. but Dr.'s in Las Vegas.
