Patient
The people at the front desk were super nice! However, my experience with Dr. Botros left me beyond frustrated. I have an underlying medical condition that makes weight loss difficult, so it felt as if she walked into the room, took one look at me, and decided who I was; a poor, fat, loser. Instead of seeing my weight as a symptom of a greater problem, she saw it as the whole problem. Without trying to get to know my lifestyle, she recommended that I cut out processed foods. Well, I cut out processed foods over a year ago. When I told her that, she switched to telling me to eliminate fried foods from my diet. I already did that too a long time ago. Then she told me to add more fiber to my diet, but not in supplement form. I clarified that she meant through vegetables and fruits, and she said I could also get fiber through beans since they're cheaper. Okay! Well, I honestly didn't go in for a visit to be looked down on and spoken to condescendingly. If I thought it would have done any good, I would have shown her my Walmart grocery pick-up app and she could have seen how careful I am about the food I put in my body. I might have told her that I make my own lunch meat and mill my own flour for bread to avoid consuming processed foods. But what was the point? She saw one outward thing about me and decided that my entire problem was my diet. This was probably my worst experience with a doctor up to this point.
