Dr Kozeny is amazing. Im 71urs old and I can honestly say I attribute alot of it to his care. He gets on me if I dont keep tests updated and prescribes me meds that help me with my life being. He also refers me to great doctors if he feels it's outside his expertise. He listens when I come in and never makes me feel rushed. I moved to the state of Washington for 7 yrs. Never found a doctor with as much compassion that I felt could measure up to his standards. I've been back in St Louis now for about 4 yrs and am back to seeing Dr Kozney. If you want a doctor who will treat you like you're family he's the one. Thank you Dr Kozney

I find Dr. Koezney and his staff very professional, knowledgeable, and proactive. The Nurse Practitioner is extremely kind and compassionate. The nurses and front desk staff all seem great as well. I am not a fan of going to the doctor; therefore, I'm not good about going until something is wrong. I've been known to occasionally go 4 or 5 years in between doctor visits. I'm not someone who is good about going to the doctor for a check up or a cold (as we rarely get ill). Unfortunately, my body has gotten older and random thimgs started to decline as well as some degenerative issues showing up a few years back. I was referred to Dr. Koezney a few years ago by my friend Sharyn after my primary of almost 40 years that I'd had since childhood, retired. I will say that Dr. Koezney is very professional which makes it less unpleasant or awkward when you have to go in if you're like me and hate going to the doctor. He can tend to pass you off to others, but is decently proactive about trying to figure out your issue, order tests, or refer you to someone else to get it figured out. He doesn't blow you off or rush you out the door when you come in with a complaint. He gives you plenty of time and listens to you, and takes time to answer all your questions. I recently was in for a neck & shoulder injury after a fall, that was causing me so much pain, I was trying to fight back tears during my visit and I habe an exceptionally high pain tolerance. He tried to get me in and out quickly without making me feel embarassed or coddling me and was very professional. As my issue has gotten worse over the past year and seems to be degenerative, I've had to return to the office a handful of times the past few years. As much as I hate having to go, I would definitely recommend this office if you have any major issues or concerns. The entire office staff is very professional and having everything in one building is convenient if you need labs, tests, hospitalization, or a specialist. There is even have a physical therapy office accross the street. The only issue is, it can take a veru long wait to get in for an appointment; nonetheless, they do have N.P.'s and other doctors on staff if it's an urgency. I am confident they will be able to figure out my issue and help fix t soon.

Unfortunately, my PCM of 15 yrs retired this year and I chose Dr Kozeny as my new doctor. One of the worst mistakes I could have made. With few exceptions, he has a very rude if not inept staff. He spends less than five minutes with you when you see him to diagnose or take care of your issues. I'm at high risk for Diabetes and go to great lengths to keep fit to avoid it's onset and at my first physical, he prescribed a statin drug for me that I didn't know had risk of causing Diabetes. I wondered what was happening when I started to gain weight, only to find out the risk statins carry for someone like me. I had to fight hard to get the weight off, but I did. My dilemma came to a head when I had to re-visit my old orthopedic surgeon due to excruciating right leg pain recently. As my surgeon and his staff have been diligently working to get to the bottom of what is causing my pain, I have to rely on Dr Kozeny as my primary care doctor to prescribe pain medication, because my surgeon is not allowed unless he has operated on me recently. Dr Kozeny is the most unwilling doctor to prescribe pain medication assuming that they will be abused. Because of this, within nine days to obtain pain relief, I've had to visit the emergency room four times. They know me by name now and it's a bit humiliating, but that is for another day. I'm sure they think I'm opioid shopping, which I also believe Dr Kozeny may think. I was given a prescription pain medication at the ER to last me two days which I have stretched into 3 1/2 dreading having to go to Dr Kozeny to ask for a longer-term prescription until my surgeon and his staff get to the bottom of what is causing my leg pain. I have been between a 7 to 10 pain level for nine days, my knee is weak and collapses occasionally and Dr Kozeny flatly refused to prescribe me any pain meds to get me through the weekend. I called his receptionist today, November 2, during business hours, to resolve this issue before the weekend but this issue was not resolved because the receptionist never got back to me with any decision from Dr. Kozeny. So I was forced to call him after hours and he flatly refused my request stating "there has to be a different way to take care of this long term," not giving me one solution except ibuprofen and Tylenol which I have taken repeatedly. It's only been nine days. That is not long term in my opinion. Finally, my husband called very upset with the situation and spoke with him and was accused of "calling me on a Friday night to get your wife some pain pills." This is the level of compassion this man shows to me and to God knows how many other of his patients. I dread dealing with both him and his staff and will be finding another PCM as soon as possible. Stay away from Dr Kozeny and his medical group called Chesterfield Internal Medicine and Rheumatology if you can. In my time dealing with this practice, I have been completely unsatisfied and rudely dismissed and treated. They treat me like an addict who doctor shops. I couldn't feel more humiliated.

Dr Kozney is one of the few doctors I've seen that listens attentively and shows compassion. He doesn't rush your visit either. I would highly recommend him.
