Showed up for an ultrasound excited to see my kid and was quickly met with no one manning the front desk. A sign was posted stating "No Volunteer on Duty". After trying to guess where we needed to go, we thankfully ran into a very nice nurse that directed us to the ER to check in. After checking in there, the volunteer on duty corrected herself and informed us we would need to check in at the "Outpatient" desk. After trecking across the entire hospital like my partner and I were Samwise and Frodo, we finally checked in at outpatient desk, also ran by volunteers, and all I could think was why are you so completely reliant on volunteers to run your front desks? Thats a pretty crucial job that you should probably pay somebody to do. Hospitals are mazes to those who dont know them and youre hedging your bets on not only someone who doesn't have to be there, but also not putting someone on the FRONT desk. Moreover, there were TWO volunteers at the Outpatient desk. Normally I wouldn't mind this so much but this is a hospital who notoriously milks Tricare out of the local Air Force base so I know they have the money to pay someone to man those desks. It just makes the whole hospital seem cheap as hell. If they're willing to save money on not paying receptionists, maybe they're willing to save money on my unborn kid. Anyways, continuing, because it gets worse... we finally get checked in for our appointment and brought into the ultrasound room only for the technician, who was super nice and professional, who tell us we weren't able to accomplish the ultrasound due to only being at 17 weeks. Now, that may seem a little early in the pregnancy for the anatomy scan to be accomplished, to which I agree, and I would've agreed when we scheduled the appointment for it, but the scheduler who called us to make the appointment was insistent it would be fine to the point that we verified with them twice on the phone. The ultrasound tech was extremely apologetic and was clearly following protocol and got us scheduled for the next week. After getting us rescheduled, she gave us a $10 sonic gift card, which made me feel like im in some dystopia orwellian future "Hey, you thought you were gonna see your son today and told your family to expect photos and whatnot, but that's not happening, go get a chili dog at 7am. All in all, awful experience and we will be swapping hospitals because of this and a few problems with the Women's Clinic that rubbed us the wrong way. TL;DR This hospital is very mismanaged and while the personnel working are actually quite nice, that doesn't nearly make up for the pain you'll deal with trying to get to your appointment. Not something you want to deal with during a pregnancy.

Honestly it comes down to billing.
I've never gotten a straight answer on what the charges are going to be for either myself or my wife. Went in today to throw down a grand to pay off a bill and I get told there is a pending charge from 3/6/2025. I'd had a handful of phone calls about the charges that were already on the account payment plan as well as others that were added months and months later. So it should be expected, my surprise that yet another bill is pending. I asked when it might be hitting the account, no answer. I asked how much it was and at first was not given an answer.
The lady in charge, Denise it seems, told me "I don't know" after I asked why nobody informed me about this bill that was still pending. I asked her if she'd be satisfied with that response if she were in my shoes, and she replied I should keep track of my appointments to know how much I might have to pay.
Hate to break it to you Denise but a patient can't get a straight answer on how much the services will cost before they step foot inside the room, so I don't know what good that would do anyone.
As a member of the general public, but also one who has worked in several sectors of the service industry, I feel bad for the folks who try to do the best job they can at this place because they surely get the brunt of people snapping at folks like Denise who give these half assed answers to legitimate, fair questions.

On Aug 10, 25' I went to the ER for treatment. This review is based on my personal experience. From the receptionist to the Nurse Practitioner, the entire ER staff provided first rate care. I found the team to be experienced, knowledgeable, and genuine. The nurse who arranged my care was very sweet and promptly answered my questions. I was seen fairly soon and did not have to wait unnecessarily long.
Overall: My ER experience was wonderful. The other negative comments may be from people with negative personalities.

This place is absolutely amazing!!! The staff in every aspect of the hospital are wonderful, they actually care and are always willing to help without making you feel like you are bothering them. The facility itself is beautiful and the cafeteria food is delicious as well! Every part of this hospital is fantastic!!!!!!!!

Went to my Urgent Care appointment and was seen by a very dismissive and rude nurse. They then refused to run labs despite my request to do so and told me that they didn't see anything wrong. I returned a week later, still very sick, and had a friend accompany me during my visit; only then did I get labs ran and a begrudged diagnosis for an upper respiratory infection.
Would highly recommend against visiting WMMC over other local clinics, especially if you're a student at UCM.
