I've never been treated so badly as I was at St. Joseph's St Charles ER last night. Bedside manner was so badly, it was as if the nurse and doctor wanted me to return to the hospital where I had my surgery not their ER. The IV and blood draw was jabbed into me and blood slung on my pjs and the bed. I went to ER due to high bp and headache but nothing would be done until the CT to was read which was 3-4 hours. I am dehydrated but no one ever gave me fluids, and my Bp was 175/102 when I was sent home still without giving me any liquids and figuring out why my BP was so high. I was given some BP meds after a few hours. The nurse and doctors were never available and never offered me a blanket or pillow. I was told there was an emergency coming in and they would deal with me afterwards. I never knew my nurse's name she didn't come back in to see me for over an hour after the Emergency arrived. She did get an IV in but there was no more communication unless my husband went out to the area they work in. I had to go to the bathroom and my husband had to take me and keep me from falling, the nurse pointed to where the facility was across the ER area. There was zero compassion shown until a different nurse and tech came to help me get discharged. No one addressed my BP just told me to track it and get in with my primary physician. I was never offered a drink or fluids in this 6 hours even though my mouth was stuck like cotton and my lips were splitting because of the lack of fluids. Today I'm trying to get fluids in, but it's difficult due to my migraine. I've never been treated this unprofessionally in my life from a hospital, it was socialistic medicine behavior not a paying customer that was sick. I'll never go to that ER again. I'm sure it was a bad night & perfect storm for the ER, but I've never been ignored or treated so badly at a medical facility.

I came into the emergency room and ultimately ended up staying overnight at the hospital. From the moment I arrived, the ER team acted quickly to address my symptoms. They explained every shot, medication, and test thoroughly, and they made sure I understood my options--whether I wanted to stay overnight or go home.
Everyone was so kind, and it was clear how much they care about their work and the people they help. Thank you for everything you do. You truly make a difference in people's lives--just as you did in mine. Special shoutout to Nurse Bree and PA Jamie.

I was admitted here on a Sunday morning and though it was a weekend, the process was quick, professional, and friendly. It was even better when I was transferred to the room for care. The main nurse and entire staff worked quickly and were able to resolve my issue and get me taken care of and out the door. I didn't feel like just a number or chart. They treated me compassionately and felt like this is how they would treat their own families. High praise for the hospital and staff. Highly recommended!

First off, I have to say a BiG thank you to the staff, doctors and nurses at this hospital. I was in the Barnes Jewish Hospital on December 3rd 2025 in Saint Peters, I was rushed to the Barnes Jewish in St Louis for emergency surgery. Surgery didn't happen and once they found out I didn't have insurance, the way they treated me went down hill. I ended up leaving. AMA because of their treatment and telling me that my symptoms weren't that serious. Down playing my pain. December 4th, I went to this SSM Health Emergency Room for answers and a diagnosis. Their bedside manners were absolutely amazing. They gave me resources to get insurance, didn't turn me away. I got my diagnosis, a surgeon to follow up with and pain meds. This is the only hospital I trust with my medical needs. Please go here if you need emergency help. They are so understanding and actually care about your needs. I only waited about 2 and a half hours before I was able to leave. Probably the fastest wait time I've ever had. Thank you.

I will honestly say that St. Joseph has been my go to medical facility for several years even after moving from the St. Charles area I continue to make it my home for my medical emergencies and needs. They have always provided thorough service in a prompt and professional manner. My only concern during my last visit was that I was released without anyone going over the results of my test with me or recommending any treatment or therapy for my condition. I was released with a script and a new bill. I felt uninformed with no direction to with my needs. I should mention. This is the first and only time that this has happened. And I would recommend this facility to anyone who wants great service
from a medical provider.
