Patient
My referral was not received by his office, so it makes sense he was hesitant to believe and understand that my rheumatologist wanted me to get an echo. I completely understand his reasoning. However I was treated as if I was a hysterical woman looking for care I didn't need. I was talked to condescendingly for fifteen minutes, and I was crying for at least seven of them. Also it seems as though he has outdated information about EDS and has not stayed up with the new research. Again I'm sure he's a good doctor but he was mean and his bedside manner is lacking when he clearly doesn't believe you. All he had to say was "I don't see a reason to give you an echo, you'll need to talk to your rheumatologist" and I would have had no issues. EDIT after reading appointment notes- I only told him my heart related symptoms and not all of the rest-- which in the moment I assumed was all he needed to know (obviously now I recognize that was a big reason the appointment went terribly, and of course my fault). BUT IN MY APPOINTMENT DETAILS he didn't even include half of the symptoms I TOLD HIM ABOUT. - I have read the response to this message and will be following up.
