I came back to say this. I was prescribed Propanalol. I have a depression disorder. Thankfully I haven't taken the medication because I'm trying to get a second opinion. Propanalol is known to worsen neuropsychiatric disorders. Definitely glad I researched the medication because Dr. Prasad definitely didn't do his research. This could have been detrimental for me.
I was really disappointed with my appointment. Dr. Prasad did not ask me any questions about any symptoms I might be having. I felt like he dismissed me before he even walked into the room because he immediately brought up my weight and assumed my issues were only related to me being overweight, (even though what I was referred to him for has nothing to do with weight) I did not feel listened to or cared for, and I left feeling judged and disappointed. I will be getting a second opinion.

Dr. Prasad performed an ablation procedure on me today and although it is early to assess the medical success of the procedure, I was very impressed with his explanation of the procedure both prior to after completion. He took his time in both cases to explain everything and it instilled confidence in his abilities to me

I had a Watchman Device implanted on 7-11-2019. My appointment was originally scheduled for June but his assistant called and literally said, "Dr Prasad is cancelling all of his June procedures and rescheduling them for July. He is so overwhelmed with his case load and he JUST CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE. SO HE IS TAKING THE MONTH OF JUNE OFF." I couldn't believe she told me this. The man must have been on the verge of a nervous breakdown. What I can't believe even more is that I was stupid enough to stay with him!!!!
Every time I interacted with him there was ALWAYS confusion and mix ups!
During the procedure he accidentally cut the exterior wall of my heart and unknowingly sent me on to recovery. Finally someone back there realized I had died. I was rushed back into surgery. The blood leaking from my heart had filled the sack around my had fill so full of blood that some of the chambers collapsed. The pressure was so great that my heart could not beat. Then as the blood had reached maximum capacity in the sack around the heart so then the blood started infiltrating the sack around my left lung, causing the lung to collapse. And the blood was also filtrating into the lower lobe of my left lung. The lung issue was NEVER disclosed to us nor treated. I now have a nodule of calcified blood that the pulmonologist told me that I would carry the nodule with me to my grave.
During the emergency procedure they placed a chest tube through my ribs to access my heart to place a drain tube to drain off the blood. When I woke up in CICU I thought I had been hit in the chest by an 18 wheeler!!! The pain was excruciating!!! I stayed in CICU for 3 days with the chest tube left in place. Then they removed the chest tube and moved me into a regular room on the Cardiac floor for one more day before they released me.
The pain I had felt like a rusty knife that had been thrust in my body between my breasts completely through to my back. The pain was so bad from my waist up to my neck I really didn't know where the pain was originating from. For the following 24 months I never left my sofa and heating pad unless it was to go to doctors appointments. I missed Christmases, Thanksgivings, family reunions, birthday celebrations, and other events. As you only have 24 months to file a medical malpractice law suit and a DIAGNOSIS of what caused the damage none of the specialists was able to tell me at the 24 month deadline. Good luck finding an attorney to take a malpractice case unless a doctor turns you into a quadriplegic, cut off the wrong limb, operate on the wrong organ, or kills you no attorney can afford to take your case. And Mississippi has limited the amount of damages you can collect make it financially impossible for an attorney take a case. The attorney would foot all the expenses and collect their percentage when the case wins. If he looses the case they are just out the money he fronted. Expert witnesses are insanely expensive.
So they are going to be 99.99% sure he can win the case.
By the end of the first year I lost about 45 pounds because when I would eat it would hurt like heck when the food hit my stomach.
I sought out many types of specialists to tell me what was causing my pain but none of them were able to give me an answer.
At the end of 2023 I had one last Hail Mary appointment with a neurologist at USB. He wasn't able to give me an answer either. He basically told me to go home and learn to live with my pain. Needless to say, I was very depressed as I was still living on my heating pad and surviving on opiate pain pills. I even made a deal with myself to stop searching the internet for answers. A few months I broke the deal I had made with myself about searching the internet. I just wanted to peek to see if I could find some new information. When I opened Google it was the very first article that was sitting right in front of me of what was my problem. I could NOT believe it!!! My pain was caused by damaging the intercostal nerves when the chest tube was placed. BTW I have now lost 70#!!!
