I want to express my deepest gratitude for the incredible care my 93-year-old father received in the ICU. From the moment we arrived, every member of his care team showed extraordinary compassion, skill, and respect. Dr. Aayush Patel, DO explained my father's heart condition in a way that helped me truly understand his abilities. Dr. Andrew Nutting, MD knelt to speak to us with honesty and empathy, acknowledging our emotional journey and my father's faith. Dr. Jessie Harvey, MD and medical student Nicki Relan were patient, kind, and responsive during imaging and emergencies. Dr. Lyba Naseer, MD kept us informed, offered emotional support, and went above and beyond to help with paperwork. Dewayne Donahoo, Echo Tech treated my father with dignity, speaking to him and offering prayers that touched our hearts. James Corbin, RT communicated with my father even while he was unable to speak, showing incredible empathy. Finally, the nursing team--Kristy Womack, RN; Sarah Kaitlin Clegg, RN; Megan Keyes, RN; and student nurse Mary Walker--were amazing, showing compassion, patience, and dedication throughout my father's care. I have nominated them for The DAISY Award, as they exemplify extraordinary nursing care. Our family will never forget the humanity, professionalism, and kindness shown by this entire MICU team.

It's a shame my cities hospital hired/allowed such a person as Dr. Sarah E. Thompson DO to work with them. I have never met a doctor in my 41 years of life with such little compassion or care for their patients. Well I say "their patients", but hopefully she doesn't have many other than me that had to suffer through her care. Where do we start? The dismissal of my assessment of my health, her pompous attitude, her down right hateful demeanor? Please save your time and money and find yourself a doctor that actually cares. This is a big hospital with lots of doctors so maybe you'll be luckier than I was. Not sure if she sees patients at a clinic around the area as well, but I'll be sure to look into it and leave a review there to make people aware. In a time with the world so divided you would think you could trust the doctors looking after you... guess not. 1 STAR TO SARAH E THOMPSON DO, shame on you.

My dad was airlifted here and spent nearly 24 hours waiting in the ER while they failed to recognize that he was suffering from sepsis and encephalitis. They didn't even test him for it until several days in. They refused to communicate with his children. Calls were ignored, messages were never returned, and my requests to be contacted by his doctors went unanswered. Then, without warning, they discharged my dad at least a week earlier than his projected release date--without notifying any of his children or even his sister. At that point, he was still delirious, unable to walk, and had received no therapy. This business kept my dad hospitalized long enough to secure a sizeable enough insurance billing, then quietly released him. What happened to ensuring he was stable, had completed therapy, and was able to walk before discharge? Side note: He had a male nurse who seemed okay. This message applies to everyone else who dealt with my dad.

They have poor services they discriminate and they always take so long to get into a room. One doctor told me that I couldn't get certain medicine because other people become so co dependent on which that had nothing to do with me . Doctors in the hematology department went over my decision after I told them that I wasnt interested in doing my treatment out patient. I hated my visit so much I will try my best not to go anymore. They moved me out of my room at 1:30 in the morning knowing my mom was staying with me and cooped me up in a tiny room with no bed so my mom had to sleep n a wheel chair ...the other patients were loud it is awful here. Go check in somewhere else!

After being transferred multiple times and given over six different phone numbers, I was feeling frustrated trying to get MyChart access linked for my son. Thankfully, I was connected with Charles from the UMMC Access Center--and he was absolutely phenomenal. Charles remained calm, professional, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. He communicated clearly, kept me informed every step of the way, and most importantly, resolved the issue efficiently. His patience and dedication truly stood out, and he turned a stressful situation into a positive experience. Charles that works at UMMC Access Center deserves major recognition--and honestly, a raise! Thank you, Charles, for your exceptional service and for going above and beyond.
