About Dr. Myrna E. Alexander, M.D.
Myrna E. Alexander, M.D., is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiovascular Diseases at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Dr. Alexander's previous academic appointment was at the Henry Ford Hospital, where she helped establish the adult congenital heart disease clinic prior to entering clinical practice. Dr. Alexander has been on staff at various hospitals in Jackson, Mississippi. As a leader and pioneer in the state, becoming the first female interventional cardiologist to practice in Mississippi, she returned to academic cardiology after gaining significant clinical experience to focus on cardiovascular disease in women.
