Dr. Sam Owen is from Gulfport, MS, and is a graduate of Gulfport High School. He played college football at Ole Miss. Dr. Owen graduated from medical school and completed an internal medicine residency at The University of Mississippi School of Medicine. After that, he moved to Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, LA, where he completed a three-year cardiology fellowship as chief cardiology fellow. Attending the University of Florida in Gainesville, he then completed a two-year electrophysiology fellowship. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular medicine, and cardiac electrophysiology. Dr. Owen pioneered a new electrophysiology service line from the ground up at Memorial Health System in Gulfport that launched in 2013.

This was my first visit with Dr. Owens and his staff. They are very prompt in getting you in and out. The staff was very friendly and kind. Dr. Owen was fantastic, didn't have an issue with my many questions and is doing everything possible to help. The receptionist in front on the other hand was perturbed that we walked in and gave us a dirty look. Ooh, she doesn't like her job and it shows by how she treats patients.
