Forrest General Hospital

The entire staff on 2T and ICU were the best!! They all treated me like family and took such excellent care of me in such a scary time. They were all gracious and kind to all my family as well. Dr Robbins was the absolute best as well. I was there 11 days and even though I was in pain and was super scared, but every member of 2T and ICU made me feel comfortable, well cared for, and loved. Room 2236

My visit to Forrest General ER was a scary one because at the time, I was unable to see out of my left eye. But I am truly thankful for the care I received. Lyndell Lee, FNP and her nursing staff were absolutely awesome. They reassured me, comforted me, and made sure I was well taken care of every step of the way. I am deeply grateful for their kindness, professionalism, and the excellent level of care I received. It was truly wonderful. I thank God for good doctors and nurses who care for us in our time of need.

I was taken by ambulance from an after-hours clinic to the ER with chest pains. Once I was finally put in a room, I received great care. Joshua Franklin, my nurse, was super friendly, caring, and thorough. Reagan Verret was compassionate, asked great questions, and actually listened to my answers. Although the ER was super busy that night, she did not make me feel rushed. She made me feel heard and well-cared-for. Radiology was also understanding and helpful when I had my CT scan. Every FGH staff member did their best to make a frightening situation less scary. We got attention and answers. Thank you!

I'm not sure what has happened to nursing care, but this wasn't it. Not given call light in ER. Not offered a wheelchair when I was obviously in pain trying to walk to bathroom....just pointed the direction to BR. Waited 1 1/2 hours in back hall alone (no one else waiting for almost an hour of that time)for an ER room without a means to call for help. Admitted for diverticulitis with microperforation, so pain was real. Floor room was not as clean as it should be. Old dirty tape stuck to handrails. Floor hasn't been stripped and waxed in a very long time. Requested Intake/Output but rarely measured it. Too much charting? Too heavy a patient load? Not adequate training? I don't know, but it needs to be figured out.

I have a few health issues and I've been in and out of many hospitals through the years. I've only been to forest general twice but it's been such a pleasure there that it feels like a week vacation. The nurses, the the techs and the Dr's have all been wonderful. I'm still in disbelief that there's a hospital where people care about what they are doing and are happy to do there jobs. IF you have to be in a hospital I promise you there's no better out there in the state of Mississippi, trust me I know from experience. Forest general is a 41/2 star hospital, the only reason I don't give 5 stars is because it's a hospital. I highly recommend forest general to any and everyone. God bless
