Patient
I have had difficulty with controlling my BP which typically ranges from 200-220/80-100. While on 3 different hypertensive medications, my BP remained creditably high ranging from the upper 200 systolic and 80-120 diastolic. I had tried exercise, relaxation modalities, and salt reduction. One of the most effective modalities for me in reducing my BP would be listening to music. This behavior change lower it by 25%-35% still my BP was not in acceptable range I was in need of a cardiologist has my primary Dr. Allen***** suggested I have an echo cardiogram/Ultrasound of the heart since I had just tested positive for Lupus. ..He had heard a murmur and felt it necessary to obtain a base-line, to determine effect of high BP on cardiac function. The technician performing the test in Dr. Paul Mullen's office was excellent!!!She kept me informed during the entire procedure. Dr. Paul Mullen explained in detail the finding and answered questions directly. I would be placed on a beta blocker Labetolol . My BP now is in the 130-150/70-80. WOW!! I haven't had this level of BP for over 10 yrs. There was no hesitation when he reviewed my current medications and allergies to Calcium channel blockers and Ace Inhibitors without hesitation expedient in choice of medication.
