North Memorial Health Heart & Vascular Center - Robbinsdale

I had a procedure here. Check in was easy and I filled mostly everything out on MyChart ahead of time. The staff member performing my procedure was very friendly and gave excellent directions. I have multiple family members being treated at this center. They had my former records from 14 years ago so I was able to see the comparison and felt good about my results. Parking was easy and covered by the hospital because it's outpatient service. The seating area was nice and comfortable also.

Disrespectful check-in staff. I was helping check in my father by answering questions. The woman had a problem with how I said "Yes" to one of the questions, accusing me of raising my voice. She immediately snapped at me with "Ma'am, you're raising your voice". I respond with "I answered your question". She then decides to say "I was talking to them" as if I was not allowed to answer questions despite the fact I am the one that initiated the check-in process and knew the answer to the question since my parents were not responding to her question (she had asked it twice). Beware if you're a family member assisting at the check-in desk, they might have a problem with you speaking. The actual visit was good, but this check-in was a black eye on the clinics image since these are the people you first interact with.

I recently had a loop recorder placed, the nurses prior to my procedure were great however the nurses in the procedure room did not seem trauma informed at all. I was required to lay very still flat on my back with a stiff heavy cloth draped over my mouth and neck. The male nurse goes "ok we are going to expose you" and before I could mentally process what was happening he ripped my gown down exposing my chest. I literally starting panicking, but was trying to stay very still like instructed....as a SA survivor this was extremely triggering and a very difficult experience. I was not walked through the process or explained through PRIOR to it happening by anyone, step by step would be nice, and a patients readiness as a consent to proceed forward would have been nice. The nurses even commented on the spike in my pulse but did not ask me how I was doing. Its been a very difficult time for me emotionally since then. Also every other place Ive had a procedure done they always call and check in a few days later not North. The doc was good but like I mentioned the surgery staff needs to be more trauma informed.

Dr Richard Taylor. You are a rare and a amazing Doctor there should be more Doctors like you. Great Doctors like you are rare. We are so Greatful for the excellant care you gave my husband and my son. Have an amazing retirement..

Only the single-best medical experience I have ever had. Every single person was incredibly helpful, the doctor was bubbly and considerate, they were even able to get me in for an extra test very last minute. Highly recommend!
