It took me years to write this because of my anger. I saw this doctor for a regular cardiologist visit. This was the first time seeing this doctor. I have Afib which is controlled by a generic med. Within 1 minute of entering her office, she had my chart in her computer screen, she told me I had about a 14% chance of having a heart attack within 10 years. I told her those are very good odds. She said no, we have to do something to get it better, I'm paraphrasing. She immediately took out her model of the human heart and proceeded to tell me what they " may" need to do, again I'm paraphrasing. She told me I may need stents placed and if that does not work I would need bypass surgery. She did not talk to me but at me. Her supercilious attitude was disgusting, and I don't use that word lightly. She recommended a stress test and heart scan and Holter monitor. I passed the stress test with flying colors. I did a heart scan which showed ZERO calcium in my arteries. The monitor showed no abnormalities. It is unusual for someone in their mid 70's to have zero calcium. I had a heart scan in 2003 and had zero then. So, before she knew anything about me she made a diagnosis. I never heard from her about my zero score or my stress test success. I refuse to see this doctor again.
