My dad (fell and broke his leg) had 2 surgeries he came out of both surgeries fine (but they lost his Phone before he made it out of the first surgery & the only person willing to look for it was the Doctor) - he died later from a puncture to his stomach - ICU nurses were great, but from Radiology to Security I was absolutely shocked at how little regard they have for patients in their care!

The staff at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth, Minnesota, this hospital although challenging to find where to go without a map and a guide. Has the best staff compared to the many hospitals I've been in the staff, doctors and nurses were an excellent group and I enjoyed my stay and never wanted to leave. And the food was the best I tried almost everything on the extensive choices of food and every day it was a party in my mouth! One of my nurses from the fifth floor Sawyer came and visited me when I was there again on the fourth floor and that was above and beyond anything I've ever had happen to me in a hospital. So I give your hospital 10 stars because 5 isn't enough!!! Thank you to everyone that was working both times and I'll be back to the 5th floor soon!
Jeanette Anderson (the party room)
405 and 505 I'm not sure about that room number but I had the same view on my second visit just over one room!
See you all next visit soon!

My advice run in the opposite direction. Horrible care for my loved one in the behavioral health unit. I'm two hours away-several times asked for Dr call back never came it seems every time I call to speak with a nurse it was always their first night on or I've not worked with him before. Mental Health patients are human too discharge was a joke -they all but pushed him out the door - no follow up info NOTHING!! Said he was not having seizures but sent home with seizure medication- HORRIBLE HORRIBLE if I could give a negative 10 that would be my score AND YES I do plan on calling the patient advocate and don't bother with the tin can apology this place has major issues and until they are addressed nothing will change

I went to the ER after a car accident. I hit my head hard. Rear ended by a car going 40-45 mph! The doctor was brief and said it was unlikely I sustained a concussion. I continued my life as usual for the next two days still dizzy, thinking it would go away. By the 3rd day, I knew something was wrong. I was so dizzy and went to my primary doctor. Yes I did have a concussion and have had symptoms for 5 weeks now. I spoke with Aspirus and they sent me a letter saying there was nothing wrong with the care they provided me that day. Everyone makes mistakes. The doctor was wrong with my diagnosis and he should have carefully examined and directed me to rest following the injury. Things may have been different if I knew to care for my brain after that hard hit.

My son was admitted for a head injury. I asked his nurse for explanation of his injuries as I live out of town and wasn't in the room for the Dr. and she informed me to look in his mychart for those. His night nurse walked into his room, did not introduce herself. Seen he was sleepy and with minimal effort, said his name to wake him. Decided he wasn't able to swallow medication and was going to place an unnecessary NG. I refused that unnecessary procedure and woke my son up and he swallowed the medication. After that interaction, the charge nurse came in to make sure that I was aware of the visitors policy. Apparently doing unnecessary procedures on patients with head injuries who cannot consent is their ideal patient. Make sure that you are aware of your rights and advocate for yourself and your family if you bring them here.
