I went to Richert Health Building, to radiology, to have an X-ray in my injured left wrist, 11/18/25, At radiology registration, there was a complicated computer glitch, which caused a longer delay. I understand these type computer issues may occur. The staff apologized. Finally the computer glitch was resolved and I was called in to X-ray. I had the X-rays ( 4 views), then I left when complete. So 24 hours later, I still have not received the X-ray results from my patient portal, nor my primary care Dr. So I called Reichert Health Bldg. radiology, to inquire. The receptionist checked the status, and said " your X-ray has not been read yet". Although St. Joe's helps many patients and they have good patient experiences, but I sadly did not and still waiting to see if I have a fracture in my left wrist, or if it's a soft tissue injury. ___________________ As a former St Joe's employee, now retiree, I knew well our motto " Remarkable Medicine, Remarkable Care.". St. Joe's takes great pride in providing the best " patient and visitor experience". I did as well, however, it takes every employee to do their part to ensure that level of quality. I realize that everyone can have an off day, and may not serve at their very best as they normally will. I just would like to say, St Joe's Hospital took excellent care of me back in December 17, -21, 2012 when I was admitted through ER for a heart attack. I had a 95,% blockage in a left anterior artery. So I am grateful, that is why I took the time to address issues, because I know what great level of care, St. Joe's is capable of, and I just wanted to remind St Joe's Remarkable Medicine, Remarkable Care !

I have received care through Trinity Health for many years, but my recent experience at the hospital was deeply concerning and has significantly changed my view of this facility. Last month, I went to the hospital due to worsening symptoms related to an ongoing medical issue. My physician had already ordered testing, but the earliest available appointment was not until January. She specifically instructed me to go to the hospital if my symptoms worsened, which they did. At the time of arrival, I was physically holding my head up because my neck could not support it on its own. I was placed in a so-called "waiting for results" area consisting of multiple open cubicles in one large room. From my seat, I could both see and hear other patients. I overheard names, dates of birth, test results, and private medical discussions. This alone raises serious concerns regarding patient privacy and HIPAA compliance. Before a nurse even initiated an IV, a physician approached me and began discussing another patient's test results without confirming my identity. While I am glad that patient's urinalysis and imaging were normal, it is alarming that protected health information was shared so casually and without verification. Initially, the first physician and primary nurse appeared motivated to identify the cause of my symptoms. Unfortunately, that was the extent of the positive interaction. Following imaging, a scope was inserted through my nose and down my throat in the open cubicle, with no privacy whatsoever. The provider performing the procedure appeared indifferent and dismissive throughout. After a shift change, a new physician introduced himself and promptly discharged me, stating that my symptoms were due to "anxiety." When I firmly explained that I was confident this was not anxiety and asked for further evaluation beyond a single scan, I was still discharged. I left the hospital in the same pain and distress that I arrived in which is something that should never be considered acceptable care. Unfortunately, this experience mirrors one my mother had earlier this year at the same hospital. She presented with a severe, multi-day migraine accompanied by dizziness, impaired balance, and visual disturbances. While she was placed in a room initially, staff repeatedly ignored her clear history of requiring a pediatric needle and often ultrasound guidance for IV placement. Despite communicating this multiple times, two veins were blown before staff finally acknowledged what we had been telling them. She was placed on a potassium drip, which became so painful that she nearly removed the IV herself. When I went to the nurses' station to report this, I was met with an attitude and dismissal rather than assistance or redirection to a nurse. Only after escalating the issue again did staff finally intervene. She was eventually admitted to neurology; however, at maybe 8 in the morning, she was placed in a bright hallway, despite having an active migraine and despite multiple empty rooms being available. She remained in that hallway all day, exposed to bright lights and constant noise. During this time, she was subjected to staff conversations about their personal lives and overheard other patients' private medical information. Ultimately, she left that night because her condition had not improved and she was still in the hallway, with empty rooms still visible. She suffered for several more days with the migraine. We both work in healthcare and understand the realities of staffing shortages and capacity issues. However, these experiences seem to have common themes. 1.A troubling lack of professionalism and basic courtesy from a significant portion of the staff. 2.An alarming disregard for patient privacy. 3.Repeated, blatant HIPAA violations. Most of my family has used this hospital for most of my life, and nearly every visit in the past few years has resulted in a negative experience. Based on these patterns, this facility is no longer one I can recommend or trust for safe, respectful, or patient-centered care.

My husband recently had back surgery at this hospital and I can't say enough good things about his experience. From the waiting room for family, to his own room, to the staff and even the food, everything was great! He was cared for so well by all the nurses. There was one staff member, Bennett D., on 5th floor East who was exceptionally kind to my husband. From taking care of him during his stay to bringing him to the car when he left, Bennett was always so nice and personable. Someone like him makes your hospital stay a lot easier so we appreciated him and all the staff. I would highly recommend this hospital!
