Robert Lyons, MD, is board-certified in general surgery and thoracic surgery. He completed his cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at the University of California Los Angeles and was awarded the James L. Cox Fellowship by the American Association for Thoracic Surgery. Dr. Lyons clinical interests include coronary artery bypass grafting, treating aortic valve disease with minimally invasive approaches such as transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), minimally invasive atrial fibrillation surgery (MAZE procedure) and aortic aneurysm disease.

Dr. Lyons is a BRILLIANT, friendly, thoughtful and extremely caring cardiac surgeon. The doctor and his team at St.Joe's treated my 73 year old dad for non-STEMI.
My dad had a heart attack and Dr. Lyons kept him in the hospital until his condition stabilized for the surgery. He then successfully performed triple bypass open heart surgery. Prior to the surgery, he explained the process in detail and told us what to expect. Post surgery, the doctor and his team ensured a safe and detail-oriented recovery process.
